This hotel was, without doubt, one of the grand hotels of Lima with an excellent position in the very centre of downtown, historical Lima. However, it has been left for a long time without major refurbishments being carried out on it and, therefore, it is now in need of a major renovation to bring it back up to the standard it once was. It has excellent examples of antique furnishings such as the lift which serves the hotel but needs to be worked on throughout the hotel, but for budget traveller this is definately a very good choice. (06/07 MA) A traditional building dating back to the early ninteen twenties. The hotel is conveniently located in the historical centre of Lima in the downtown in Plaza San Martin, one of the most famous squares in Lima famous for where Peru's independance was proclaimed.
