The Hotel-Gasthof Adler is a traditional Bavarian building featuring typical fachwerk, in a small village near the Bodensee. The internal features of the building, particularly in the restaurant (where breakfast was served) was the most interesting part of the stay. Breakfast was excellent - a large selection of meats, cheeses and cereals and tea, coffee and hot chocolate served by staff. The room was a little small (for four people) and the beds a little hard, but otherwise everything was excellent - and finding hotels able to accommodate four people is quite difficult. We mixed up our dates but the hotel staff were pleasant and understanding.
traditional German Inn
Concerning very warm weather there were hot also in ther room. No clima.
We liked the price for the room. It was cheaper than staying closer to the Bodensee. However, we were in Lindau within a few minutes. Hotel Adler is out in the countryside in a little town which was quiet, quaint, and lovely. The restaurant in the hotel was very good, too.
Because we returned to the hotel after dark (October), we got lost. So if that happens to anyone else, just get back on the autobahn and retrace your original steps rather than to try to find the street from Lindau. Be sure to print out the hotel's directions from the website. :)
Comfortable, relaxing, great breakfast. Fine old building that has been well adapted to modern standards.
Gastof Adler is a good distance from Lindau - too far to walk. Bus service out of Obereitnau does not go to Lindau centre (and does long tour of suburbs!) a taxi is much faster but cost us only e18.
Simple and comfortable. Internet works. Breakfast was nice. Easy parking.
