breakfast facilities. cleanliness.
Access to back yard; quiet neighborhood; nice guests. Bit of a long walk to Ealing Broadway station, but manageable. The room where I stayed was itself clean - an oasis in this dwelling. Pleasant dog who has the run of the house.
Breakfast room prominently displays original art proclaiming, "F-ck Forever" with anthropomorphic cat straddling cucumbers. Not appropriate for children - or adults with anything resembling taste. "kfc" restaurant mock advert with Colonel Sanders' face replaced by a grinning skull - unsettling whilst breakfasting. Clutter, clutter everywhere - every nook and cranny filled with "art" canvasses and projects; impossible to clean around this volume of hoarding, and small effort made to do so. The house is derivative of Andy Warhol's worst nightmare - esthetically and hygenically. From the mess outside the front door to the laundry just off the shared kitchen, the house is simply not clean; I'm not the tidy sort in my own home, either, but this was offensive. Cabinet doors hang open, "art" supplies are stacked all over, covered in cobwebs and filth. Finally, the pervasive aroma of burning hemp late at night thinly masked the owner's truest inspiration.
Arrived late in the evening to a warm welcome by the owner and was promptly upgraded to a double room. If you’re looking for a stuffy, traditional English B&B, this place is not for you. If, however, you are after a quiet and for London relatively inexpensive place to stay that has artistic charm and a very laid back atmosphere, you will feel quite at home here; as long as you don’t get hung up on the fact that the rooms are mostly not ensuite and you have to make your own breakfast in the morning (though there are plenty of ingredients available for both a cooked and continental breakfast).
This is not 3 stars hotel, rooms were without the toilet, toilet was on the lower floor, I was there a few nights, and the room was not cleaned, the kitchen, where we have to prepare breakfast, was very dirty.
Transportation from b & b not readily accessible. Need to take a taxi from Ealing Broadway station to b & B.
Felt really homely and friendly. Lovely sense of peacefulness with beautiful and interesting pictures of art on show.
Staff were helpful and accommodating
No private bathroom and this was not communicated clearly when booking was made
