Louisville's Waterfront Hotel is also in the Heart of Louisville, you can walk, trolley hop or catch a two minute cab ride to main attractions, fabulous restaurants, museums and live entertainment. The Galt House Hotel is the hub of the city and it is the place to be.
Room was nice and the view was good (Louisville isn't much to look at though).
Hair on the side of the shower. No refrigerator in the room. $15 parking per day was a little steep.
We stayed at the Galt the weekend before Christmas for my niece's graduation. It was beautifully decorated throughout and the staff was very attentive and helpful. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. It was centrally located in downtown Louisville. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The hotel felt a little dated and the elevators were very slow. This is a small quibble for a lovely hotel.
No kings - said they had mostly twin queens for conventions.
Was there overnight for a YUM Center activity...PERFECT!!!
We can walk to a lot of downtown attractions from the Galt House.
We have to pay extra for parking in their garage. The staff at the check in desk acted a little stuffy.
All the staff we spoke with were gracious and had great attitudes. Walking distance to where we needed to be.
Room was dirty. Found sunflower seeds and multiple hair pins. Beds were some of the hardest I've ever tried to sleep on. The shower was huge but had a tiny little shower head.
The Executive Suite was perfect for a group of girls. The room was SO BIG we were all able to get ready and socialize without being on top of one another. The amenities were wonderful. Will absolutely come back. Very spacious, comfortable, and nice!
Closet door would not open
Wonderful suites and comfortable beds
I liked the view from our room, the central location to downtown atractions and the charm of this older hotel.
The person at the front desk at check-in was frazzled and short with us. Not unpleasant, just not the friendly, helpful person you expect to greet new guests and make that favorable first impression. We were there while a music conference was going on - and an ice storm just came through Louisville. I was there for a special occasion, my mom's 80th birthday. She heard so many wonderful things about The Galt House so we drove 3 hours to experience this lovely hotel. It felt like we were there during spring break. There were kids gathering outside the room in the hall and running from room to room. Many stepped outside their room to have calls on their cell phones and we were able to hear every word. In the adjoining room there was a loud party going on after dinner. The kids were obviously having a good time and they quieted down by midnight. We just watched the Olympic games on TV until things quieted down. This is just poor timing of our trip on our part, nothing against the hotel or the talented kids.
