Great location, couldn't have been better. Minute walk to the beach right across the street and right on the main Ocean Drive with all the restaurants and bars. Colonial Ave a street over and has all the shops, a good mixture of high end and affordable. There was a Walgreens a block away and at least two liquor stores in a block radius. One almost right outside our window. The hotel has an old school feel which was nostalgic, but also been renovated to add a new chic feel. I loved the old school elevator, although just taking the two flights of stairs was easier. Very friendly to offer the daily coupons for $4.00 off breakfast, lunch, and dinner to the little shop in the entrance. The mini fridge was a plus.
You can't control the AC or heat. The first night it was blasting full force and we were freezing, even being from MA haha. I had to close the vent. Towards the end of the week it seemed the AC was turned down a bit. The outer coating of the shower was chipping off. Just minor face-lift stuff. My girlfriend and I live out of our suitcases, so having no bureaus wasn't a big deal. But maybe having something small to put some stuff away in would be nice.
Location was awesome
It's on ocean Blvd which is the best place to stay as a tourist
The staff has a medeocure customer service skills . Not very friendly, but You get what you pay for
Noise in hotel Bed was very uncomfortable No air conditioning Walls are paper thin Windows don't open
Location was great. Front desk very friendly and helpful.Housekeeping needs training and i think it should start with management. I am not one to complain but the floor should be swept and moped daily. Felt the floor dirty and with sand . For 3 days straight i purposely left 3 beer caps that accidently fell to the floor by the door that was never swept up. ..... And the food area needs to serve something of better quality though i was given food vouchers found that the food was not worth 1 penny of the value they sell for . A bag with a croissant in it and an egg that is cooked in a microwave that becones hard when removed out the microwace and a cup of coffee and 3 small cold pancakes not worth $8.95 plus 9% tax and another 18% tip after the $4.00 food voucher still paid about $12.50 for a breakfast i had to throw away. I would've really enjoyed a Mcdonald breakfast. On the other hand the beds need to be changed not confortable at all makes to much noise and was afraid it would break. Other than that i found my stay to be ok.nothing to brag about. Love the location but honestly do not see anything of a paradise . Sorry
The staff was kind and brought me an extra blanket . Taped the vent and showed me other rooms which stank of cigarettes but u can't open them to air out. They couldn't regulate the temperature since it was locked and they didn't have the key??? Friendly staff however incompetent hotel management. They do offer to carry up your bags but don't inform you of how long the elevator will be out of service.
The air conditioning had no regulation in rooms ! It was freezing even after closing the vents the air still leaked out! The staff assisted in taping up the vent and I slept in a puffer winter coat. I flimsy throw as z blanket however they did give me ore flimsy blankets . All the windows are sealed shit so you can't wa the freezing temp! It was colder than nyc in December! The hot water indicators were backwards but there was hot watery just need to ask how to operate the faucet. Everything is on the opposite side. The password for the Internet which was suppose to work for 3- 7 days worked for one day!!! The hallways were freezing. The neighbor was costed by police because the 2peostitures robbed him. The noise from the garbage trucks every morning at 5am. Then as I checked out they asked for 1 dollar which was buzzard after the terrible accommodations! The tv reception wax awful. No refunds elevator was broken had to carry luggage up a lot of stairs
Location, the room fine, the bathroom perfect and de staff vert nice
The air on the room can low down and it weas vert cool.. I got seek
I have stayed in many hotels in the last 5 years and usually I’m pretty lenient when it comes to budget hotels so long as they’re clean… Unfortunately, this is not one of those hotels you can just be permissive about. This hotel is by far the worst I’ve ever stayed in. Everything about this hotel is a disaster from the management to the staff to the condition of the property. This hotel could turn your vacation into a nightmare as it did for us, so think twice before you book here. First, when we arrived at the location, we had trouble finding the hotel because there was no sign on the building. We passed the hotel 3 times before we actually found it. Second, check-in took an eternity. On top of the fact that there was someone (who was checking-in) arguing with the front desk assistant because they were displeased with the expensive resort fee they were being charged, the assistant in the front desk moved slow in everything. It took approximately 30 minutes for me to get my key to the room. By the way, when I say key, I’m talking about an actual key; a house key. They don’t use electronic keycards like most other hotels do. And if you lose the key, they will charge you a $50 fee. Third, this hotel charges a $20 per day resort fee just to provide you with beach towels, wifi, and "complimentary breakfast" which is all worthless anyway because A) they hardly ever have any beach towels available. B) They’re wifi is terrible. And C) They’re breakfast is just juice and a plain breakfast croissant. The hotel does not have a pool, nor does it have a spa, or a fitness center. The $20 resort fee is just another way for them to steal your money. Oh, and did I mention the $200 deposit they withhold during your stay? Fourth, the room was very dirty… which I couldn’t understand why because they knew we were arriving late due to our flight being delayed, which in turn, means they had all day to clean it… but they didn’t. The floor was full of outside debris such as sand, dust, tiny rocks, as well as hair, and we found a woman’s toe nail on the floor by the bathroom door. The windows and it’s curtains had stains and mold as did the bathroom ceiling and walls. We also found hair on the bed sheets and blanket, and inside the bath tub. The walls were dirty and run down. The tiles on the floor were cracked and loose. The wall base looked like it had not been cleaned in years. The sink had a rusty crack down the center of it. The curtain tie back hooks were just dangling on the wall, and the air conditioning was awful. Honestly, we felt like we were staying at a crack house.
Fifth, the service was terrible. When I went to the front desk to report some of the things we found in the room, I started by showing the front desk assistant a knot of hair that was found on the blanket. He looked at it and simply said, “I don’t know what to tell you.” Right away I knew I was dealing with someone who knew nothing about customer service or hospitality. I continued talking with him about the situation and all he kept saying were things like, “I don’t know what you want me to do.” and “These things happen.” Never did he offer to resolve the situation. The security then came over and found the situation to be amusing to him. When I confronted him about it, he threaten to have the police arrest me. I was mind blown. I finally came to my senses that I was not going to get anywhere with these two imbeciles, so I simply asked to be given a new blanket and I spoke with a manager the next day. Unfortunately, the manager was just as unhelpful as they were. He did not apologize or even seemed to care at all. Sixth, the day to day operation of the hotel is a joke. One day, I came from the beach and all my towels were gone. The housekeeper took all my towels and did not replace them with any clean ones. When I went to the front desk and informed them about it, they said there weren’t any clean towels available at the moment. How could you not have any clean towels? It’s clear these people don’t know what they’re doing. Seventh, you can hear everything. We spent 3 nights hearing everything from people walking and arguing in the hallways to people partying in the next room and every single sound wave that came from outside. We know it's noisy in South Beach, but we’ve stayed in other hotels on Ocean Dr. and it was not a third as bad as this hotel was. Overall, the hotel is a junk hole.. plain and simple. I would not recommend anyone to stay here. Take your money and go some where else because believe me... you will regret it.
The location is perfect.
Issues with the WiFi connection
Housekeeping was great very clean... Fresh towels and bedding were up to par.
Free breakfast consist of a pastry and coffee... Noisy streets unable to sleep the morning... Can't control room temp... No down comforter just some cheap blanket that seemed not wash. And they didn't give extra pillows... No comfortable chair in the room and TV was a 32' small few channels
Facilities run down, no services to speak of
I think the housekeepers are the best asset of this hotel. If anything, they need to focus on all other aspects.
for one, the picture you see online is no where near current. the place is way worn down. so how about you update that for starters I did not like the Front desk agent who checked us in. It is so simple to say "hello" to your guests and greet them. It goes a long way. This man acted like he didnt want us there. we arrived at about 2:10. When we went up to the counter, we waited for a little over a minute for anyone to come out to the desk. this gentleman that had dark hair in a ponytail, glasses and a goatee came out (i'm describing him in case you decide to stay, you know that you're going to have the worst check in experience of your life). when he came out, not only did he slowly come out like he hated his life, he didnt even say hello. he just went to the computer, didnt say anything and then after a few moments, he looked up and said "yes?" I told him we were here to check in and we were slightly early and wanted to see if we could get into our room. he looked up at the clock and said check in isn't until 3:00. okay i understand, but could the room possibly be ready now? No. He never even asked for my name, or the name on the reservation. so i then said, okay well could we please valet our car early so we have a place to leave it. he then asked the dumbest question... "you have a car?" (nah, just wanted to see what you would do.) yes. "that will be $30 plus tax" "okay." so i hand him $40. he looks at me and says do you have change? "you dont have change behind your counter?" "no". you have got to be joking. so i went to the bar and asked for change. it came to $32.10. i gave him $33. he asked if i had 10 cents. i actually said "are you kidding me" and he said no. went back to the bar and got change. completely p!$$ed off i waited in the lobby to check in. even on check out he didnt say hello he didnt say how was your stay. he just said "yes?" and "you're all set". coming from high end hotels this place is a piece of junk. the sign is made out of printer paper outside
Excellent location now has wi fi safe and small fridge
No table chairs or drawers in room. so nowhere to sit except on bed and had to leave most everything in suitcase whole stay
Location, bedroom size
Elevator, exterior decor
Parking. No coffee. Elevator was not working. Old looking. Poor upkeep. Loose door lock. Poor TV reception. No A/C adjustment (too cold).
The rooms suck the valet parking was ride and disrespectful ! Love the beach but will not stay at that room again
The customer service was terrible
Horrible Never again
