Trapp Family Lodge

The lodge is very close to the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve and will arrange guides for visiting. The rooms are nice and spacious and the breakfast was great. The staff were all friendly and most spoke excellent English.

The breakfast and the waiters are excellent there. We had a baby crib.

The beds were cozy and comfortable. The room was big and very clean with a direct view on some big trees that gave a forest vibe during the night. The room has canvas representing the wildlife, super nice!

Free parking is available at the lodge.

The low season is in May, and the high season is in August.

Several guests mentioned the incredible views from rooms, especially those with balconies facing the garden or forest.

Some guests found that upgrading their room for a better view was worth the extra cost, particularly for a direct view of the forest.

Due to the higher elevation, the weather can be windy and rainy, so it's advisable to bring appropriate clothing and gear.

As the rooms may not have direct heating, guests should consider requesting a heater and extra blankets, especially during colder weather.

The hotel is located uphill, and the road access can be tricky, so guests driving to the property may want to consider using a 4x4 vehicle.

While the on-site restaurant received positive feedback, some guests found the breakfast options limited, so it may be helpful to plan for alternative dining options.

Due to the proximity to the cloud forest, it can be windy at times, potentially causing noise that might disturb light sleepers. Bringing earplugs could be beneficial.
