We liked that the place was central (just off Times Square) and that it was no frills, as advertised. We needed a place to sleep and this was it. No extras or a lot of space. Air conditioner (necessary!) was working just fine. If you are looking for luxury, this is not the place, but if you are looking for a good value for the location, stay at the Mayfair.
The elevator did break down, but we were on the second floor and it was not important to our stay.
Very small room, but it was perfect for me since I was alone. Wouldn't be big enough for two I guess. The air-conditioning was very loud and it was also a little smelly in the room. But since you won't stay in your room all day it's okay.
Location near theaters and subway.
Had to ask at front desk each day for ice in room. The one elevator broke down (out of order). Lucky we were on second floor near stairs.
Room was very small, facilities are old and outdated.
Great location to see the shows and sights! Room was fine for sleeping and very clean. There was a hair dryer.
Every thing else
staff needs to be more attentive/professional
the interior decor; old settler wall paper that has to match everything??!
Everything (safe for a couple of things mentioned below) was very good, the rooms are nice, and beds are comfortable.
The hotel did not have an adaptor to charge the European mobiles etc (while other hotels where I stayed did offer it) and refused to buy one, so I bought it at my own expense. The toilet was not clean at the day of my arrival and the maid was obviously forgetting to clean it the next day of my stay even though I left a note with the Reception..
The location was excellent, right next to Broadway theatres and Times Square. The room was comfortable.
The room was small and the staff not particularly friendly.
It was a nice small hotel. Perfect if you have to stay for a day. Accomodation wasn't high science, but was sufficient. I read the review of booking.com and my expectation was lowered, so there wasnt any surprises when i arrived. Price hotel was relatively cheap compared with other hotels in downtown Manhattan.
Windows was sealed so no daylight in the room and the size of the room was small.
