ALL of the vending machines were either empty or out of order, so trying to find a soda was quite an excursion. The hot tub was way too hot; we were only able to stay in for about 20 minutes, an kids were splashing us the entire time. We live locally and just wanted to get away and relax....next time we'll be going somewhere else.
The hotel is fine, the rooms very nice but the water park and pool area are a horror! Go to Tripadvisor & read the reviews regarding these.
We stayed at this motel for one night only, so perhaps we didn't get the full experience. It was a Saturday night and they were full or very close to full. Pluses: A beautiful lobby area with 2 fireplaces and lots of comfortable seating; a big room with garden-size tub from which you could watch the flat-screen tv; nice decor throughout; clean; nice pool and hot tub; onsite salon onsite waterpark (for an extra fee); nicely landscaped and decorated courtyards; nearby walking trail. Minuses: LOTS of kids and people in wet swimsuits walking around, onsite restaurant appeared completely unprepared: not enough menus and service extremely slow even though the tables weren't even half full; not really enough amenities for the size of the place: salon had no massage openings, pool was crowded, unsupervised teens using the pool table, etc; a long walk from rooms to anywhere in the motel. Overall, it was a nice enough place to stay for a night when we were away on a golfing weekend. It would probably be better with kids. Not really someplace I'd feel any great need to visit again. I think it was a bit pricey.
Exceeded all of our expectations, The hotel its self is one of the best hotels i and my family have ever stayed in. The staff waits on you like your the only guest in the hotel. If you stay here i highly recommend the executive suite, its like an apartment.... The water park is out of this world open everyday with staff and a bar right inside, this is a family orinented hotel.... Kids tend to be overlooked at most other places, but they go out of their way to show the children special attention at the Lodge! Like to be outdoors there's a park like scene surrounding a pond of friendly ducks and waterfalls for ur enjoyment.
This has to be one of the most scenic places I have ever stayed. I was there in winter and didn't go out to the full courtyard, but it was pretty. Our room looked out to the courtyard where there was a pond and very pretty landscaping. It included a path to walk. The room had great space and was clean and kept up. The pool and hot tub area were both very clean, great temperature, not overly chlorinated, and modern looking. They were both indoors with a glass wall that looked outside to a patio area that would have furniture in the summer. They came with the room. We had a water park pass. The water park was the only disappointment as it was very small. It would be great for younger kids though. The water park only added 12 dollars to the stay. For the price it was okay, but, in the future, I would just stick to the pool and hot tub that were part of the hotel.
We had a very pleasant stay. Very clean, comfortable room. Bartender at Coco Key makes the best drinks ever.
The Cherry Valley Lodge in Newark, OH was really very nice. The staff was excellent. The rooms were exceptionally clean. I loved the landscaping. It was beautiful... My trip was a total success.. Thank you very much
The lodge was even more beautiful than on the website. The room that we had was large and recently refurbished in homey decor. The only problem was the mattress which was way too soft. The restaurant and pool area were great. I would highly recommend Cherry Valley Lodge.
My sons found two needles in the public restroom, we let an employee know who said it happens all the time. We then told a manager who said they would take care of it, two hours later the needle where still there.
Hotel was everything we expected and more. Very nice hotel for the money. Huge waterpark for families. We were surprised to find a little patio/deck with our room once we checked in and it was very nice to open the patio doors. Felt like we were right at home!. Also, housekeeping was great. Checked in and found that we were only given one bathrobe, called front desk and housekeeping was at our door in less than 2 minutes! Hotel is worth every cent. Great for families or just a nice weekend getaway.
You could probably stay at a lower class hotel and get a better room. The room was terrible. There was only a pocket door separating the bathroom. You could here water running in the next room as well as every noise. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. It appears to me that all of the upgrades were done in the wrong places. The lobby is beautiful. The new water resort seems great. ( I did not try this but saw it.) But the rooms are absolutley horrible. I travel alot with my job and have stayed at better hotels. It is apparent that no $ has been invested in upgrading rooms.
We stayed here in August and we are returning this month to try out the waterpark. Our visit in August was very nice and I highly recommend this hotel.
Thank goodness I didn't care about the prior comments here. The hotel was just wonderful in every aspect. The indoor pool was great for the kids with a patio next to it that was outdoors for the adults to use. The room was spacious. The fact that the waterpark is not complete is spelled out in full on their website. We would love to return once the waterpark is complete.
Horrible. Went for a vacation to the ''water park'' to find out it's under construction and they don't have any outdoor pool areas. also, we literally had a digger out our bedroom door and when I called to complain they said the construction I might be hearing was a gas station being built up the street.
