The room was nice and the food at the restaurant was good!
There was some remodeling going on, but it didn't make you feel like you were in a construction zone, so it was fine. The staff was great, the staff in the restaurant was very nice, the food was good, the room was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and the cable TV gave plenty of options. It is close to downtown, but we got in late and had to leave early so we didn't get to enjoy downtown Newark.
I loved the upgraded condition of the rooms and public areas. I also thought the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The front desk manager found me a coffee shop open on Thanksgiving Day.
No negatives at all from our stay.I am from area and had stayed at location previously under a different ownership. Property has been upgraded to level even better than the original property (I had my prom there 30 years ago). Great room, great people. Will stay again for sure!
there were no maroon floral prints ANYWHERE! the modern feel mixed with the earth tones and the cleanliness of the lobby and my room is what i liked best.
can't think of anythingaccording the pics and the reviews, this hotel met its expectations.
It was easy to find and close to food, shopping, etc. Kathy & Shawn at the front desk were FANTASTIC!
Rude managementUpon check-in I was told that because I purchased through Priceline, free breakfast was not included. I complained because free breakfast was listed as an amenity. The food service manager chimed in and got rude about it. Apparenly after some research he found out I was right and the Priceline ad does indicate free breakfast included. Unfortunately, the manager wasn't professional enough correct the problem in person but sent another staff person (Kathy)to apologize for the error. Also, the shower was moldy! On the bright side, Kathy and Shawn were very professional, helpful, and friendly. They would be the only reason to consider returning, but I am not likely to.
Clean, easy access, friendly staff
NoStay there often. Great Stay
Staff and decor very nice
In room information very poor. No tv guide or phone guide. Room service with menu only no information that they had kids menu or minimum charge.Hotel is very nice but they have things to work on.
No closet in the room, very strange. Only mirror in bathroom?? Others received breakfast vouchers, but because we booked through Priceline we were denied vouchers. Either you have a free breakfast or you don't. Since when do you pick and choose?
Price line helped
No breakfast and the deluxe suite was really small
The rooms were very clean, the bedding and beds were great. No noise around, very peaceful allowing for a very restful night.
I would have liked a safety bar in the shower and a fan in the bathroom.Couldn't find another Hotel/Motel in the area that had a room. Decided to try the Newark Metropolitan Hotel. So happy with everything and would stay there first rather than shopping around. The location is close enough to almost everything, lots of free parking, very nice rooms and the Hotel is very close to the expressway. A must place to stay in Newark.
