A resort oasis one mile from Downtown Disney near Seaworld and Universal with a half-acre lagoon-style pool, slides, water sports and beach. 815 room luxury hotel offers 4 restaurants, 4 lounges, 45 holes of Jack Nicklaus designed golf, Racquet club, health club, 24 foot rock climbing wall and children's facilities.
"On the rocks" was phenomenal.
Screaming children Game room was lacking the bed was uncomfortable
The grounds are spectacular - lush greenery and foliage, variety of flowers, manicured -they must have a team of scientists and gardeners to plan the landscaping year round. All amenities are included -bikes, climbing wall, sailing, kayaking. 24-hour pool and hot tub are a huge bonus, especially after a day and night of disney. The staff is equally incredible throughout the hotel. St. Augustine has been my favorite local weekend get-away, but now the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress is IT! It may just win the competition between any of the Disney parks or just a relaxing, but activity filled day at the hotel for the best day of your vacation too! Breakfast buffet ($22) is great too - seems pricey, but the options are high end from ham, bacon, prosciutto, salami, variety of cheeses, sausages, yogurts, fruits ( melons and berries), pastries, artisan breads, omelets, oatmeal, boxed cereals, and then the usual scrambled eggs, ham, sausage, breakfast potatoes, pancakes, waffles, etc. Other food and grocery store options are literally within 5 miles. Room has "cool box" (small refrigerator without freezer) that keeps soda cold.
When the front desk found out it was our wedding night, they upgraded us for free to a 2-story suite with a outdoor patio at the very top of the hotel. There was a bottle of champagne and a plate of chocolate covered strawberries waiting for us. They were unbelievably nice. Best hotel experience ever!!!
The bar near the lobby was open to the pool guests, so all night families were walking through the dining area, specifically the door closest to the bar, while people were dining and it was distracting, and very loud. Perhaps the door nearest the bar should be locked. There were at least 2 to 3 other entrances to the lobby/ dining area to be utilized. Otherwise, a great experience!
Getting nickel and dimed for parking & breakfast at $25/ each significantly increased the cost of a daily stay. I make over a million $ a year and have been to the hotel several times, but the silly expensiveness makes me sure to avoid another stay.
Very beautiful and quiet. Pool is large enough that we were apart from everyone and had some good quiet time. Very delicious frozen drinks on demand at the pool bar. Love the macaw "lobby ambassador!" Super awesome breakfast buffet with anything you can imagine.
Decor felt a little bit dated in places but was not awful. Shuttle to universal Orlando was about a half hour.
The service and the club level.
Could've stayed in a bigger room.
Staff was friendly and accommodating. LiActivities offered were abundant; food and drink were good; especially liked the convenience of the club room for snacks and drinks throughout the day. We were accommodated with early check-in, which we really appreciated. Grounds were kept beautifully; felt like an island resort at times. First-rate place
Lines at check-out; need to travel off-site to shower and change after spending check-out day at the resort. When various fees were added on to the bill (club room, resort fees, etc), place was pricey
Loved the amenities, the staff and everything about the hotel. Truly made the vacation great.
Too much construction without accommodation or thoughts to impact on guests
I liked the facilities
The food at the restaurants was not very good.
This was my first time with my family in Orlando & we all not liked but loved everything about the hyatt regency grand cypress. We would highly but highly recommend .
We wish we could spend more time there.
