The desk staff was very friendly on our check in and check out. The entry is very welcoming and the breakfast area is large with plenty of seats and tables.
We booked a non-smoking room but it definitely smelled like cigarettes in the room. Our over night stay was very nice. The staff was great and very helpful. The hotel is nice but the rooms could use some updating. Everything was clean but I couldn't help and think JUST HOW many people have stayed in that same room with the same bed spreads and furniture. A pool would be nice especially if you have children along.
Clean, good price, good location
Non smoking room smelled of old smoke, Wouk have appreciated a refrigerator in the room at this price point.Overall very happy with stay. Nothing special, but serves the purpose. Great breakfast. The woman that checked me in was a bit stiff and unwelcoming but the woman that tended breakfast and checked us out was very friendly. Rooms could stand to be upgraded over time but felt that they were very clean given the age of the hotel.
Staff was friendly.
My room smelled like it had been smoked in for 30 years. Even though it was a 'non smoking' room. I also thought that paying over xxx (taxes and fees) for a super 8 was ridiculous, it was no where near worth it.I am a traveling musician, so I stay in many hotel rooms in towns all over. My stay at the Super 8 in Park Rapids ranks pretty low on places I'd like to stay again. But let's start with the positive. The staff was great, friendly, and polite. The continental breakfast wasn't spectacular, but I didn't get there until the end. The negative:My room smelled like it was smoked in for 30 years, and one day they decided to change it to 'non-smoking' without repainting, cleaning, or anything. It stunk, bad. It was over priced, I don't know if there was something going on that weekend, or what, but xxx for a Super 8 in a small town in northern MN, is expensive. I will say that the following night I stayed for almost $30 less 40 m...
was advised I'd save $ by reserving thru Super 8Easy to locate, park Open for late arrival friendly staff, clean
Sheets were clean
The room was so musty, it made us all sick. We ended up leaving at 9:30 in the evening the second night it was so bad. My one year old found petrified fries on the floor and was trying to eat them. Air didn't work. Was 63 outside and 70+ in the room.I have been to hundreds of hotels in my life and have never been so disappointed and disgusted. Will never stay at a Super 8 again after this experience. Wish we would have just paid the extra $200/night for the resort down the road!!
They provided a continental breakfast that was quite nice. I would have liked to have a selection of fresh fruit, but none was available.
The entry way was ice covered which made it difficult to walk from my vehicle to the entry.I'd stay there again.
Comfortable bed, good breakfastComfortable hotel with friendly staff and a good breakfast (waffles!)
