I fly a lot, and spent a lot a nites at airport hotels due to missed connections or early flights the next morning; this one here takes the price!! PICTURE IT: Phoenix, AZ a beautifull balmy evening, around 8 pm, after driving for 12 hours and in bad need of a hot shower and a good nite sleep, and the first words out of the receptionist mouth were that I need to post a $75 security deposit. 'the place has been completly renovated' she added, and I would get my deposit back after 'inspection'..I was upset with the request (it almost felt like a cavity examination); but after such a long drive and the fact that I was on an empty stomach (too weak to put up a fight, I decided to go along with it. The first room I got; the toilet would not flush ( sorry about the gift I left behind). The second room; I spend 10 mins. videotaping every inch of it, it was in such a worn and battled state that I was going to make sure I would not be blamed for it. Just what I need at my age (62),..I slept poorly that nite just worring about it. The following morning I waited 10 mins. for the inspection person to comeback with her verdict, the young man sitting next to me was also impatiently waiting ( and what a surprise; he was also hispanic...Mmmmmhh.?!) at her return, the 'inspector' proudly and loudly announced: 'YOU TWO ARE FINE' ......I big smack upside down her head came to mind!...The experience has stayed with me like a bad meal in the streets of calcutta, so I decide it to write this review.... SO Now; please ask me if I would stay there again.
Nice room, very neat. It was a small suite with a kitchen large enough to cook if we needed to. The hotel is close to the airport and downtown Phoenix (if you have a car). There was a restaurant within walking distance. Yes, we would stay there again.
If you are looking for a hotel close to the airport, this is it. Having only stayed one night I cannot comment on the amenities. We had an early flight and found this hotel to meet our needs of getting up and out early. We would use this hotel again.
Easy to find, right off the I-10 freeway. Laundry room on site. My trip had messed up my sleep schedule, but I was able to sleep from 10pm to 2am, then woke up hungry. There's a 24-hour Waffle House restaurant half a block away -- no need to take the rental car out and risk having some drunk crash into me. In the morning, it's less than 10 minutes from the hotel to rental car return -- perfect place to stay for a whole trip to Phoenix or the last night before flying out of Sky Harbor.
room smelled and the bed comforter had holes in it.would not stay again
Hard to beat the price and the location is good for the airport and meetings in Tempe/Mesa. Room is comfortable but basic. You need to understand the housekeeping arrangement here - it is minimal and involves a certain amount of self service. Internet was good. Major downsides is maintenance; the toilet leaked for the full three days of my stay and they never bothered to fix it - 'we don't have maintenance staff over the weekend'. Most hotels do. A/C was barely adequate. Absolutely no frills at this hotel. I'm not sure who is their target customer but if it's low price that you want and you are prepared for some inconvenience, then this place might work for you. Bring your own food and drink - at least they have a mini kitchen, so that's good for longer stays.
Enjoyed our stay, didnt know our room would come with a kithen. Very nice, I would come back. Great staff.
I was assigned one of the redecorated rooms. Everything was very clean and I was completly satisfied. The location is very good with easy access to I-10,
This is an excellent hotel for the moeny. It has good access to most anywhere in and around Phoenix. Even though it is advertised as an Airport hotel, it is away from the airport and very quiet. The room and kitchen areas were very clean and stocked with enough utensils for two people. The bed is firm, but I like it that way. I slept very well. The TV was a little smaller than some hotels but not a problem to see. There wasn't any pool, but I never use them anyway. There was a small Waffle House resturant next door, but otherwise the closest resturant is 2-3 miles down the road. Overall, this was my first time staying in a Extended Stay Hotel and I will probably try another one next time I travel on business.
It is an Extended Stay facility, so for one-nighters like us some small amenities are missing, e.g. shampoo, which the hotel expects the guests to arrange themselves. (The hotel staff will provide it on the first day by request.) Unfortunately, the closest supermarket is far away... Also, the TV set was the smallest I've seen in a long time. Other than that, no complaints: clean, spacious room in a quiet neighborhood.
