OMG, the musty, mildew smell was so funky that we were unable to sleep. My brother had to go get Febreeze, Lysol and car deodorizer trees to try to de-funk the room. The old bathroom crevices gave all of us the shudders! The ceiling paint was peeling & the chair in the room was stained so badly, it really should have been thrown out. At one point, we had to call the manager to come fix the cable connection. He was very nice, but not nearly enough for the condition of our room. The bed and carpet was damp and funky because the air conditioner just was not cutting it. I finally turned it off because it was making more noise than anything. Speaking of noise, the people in the next room may as well have been in our room. At one point my brother had to go ask them to keep it down because they were so loud and the walls so thin. The next morning, I had to go to the front desk to get something and I told the woman there about the smell. She said it was one of the rooms that doesn't get aired out much. If only the bad smell was the problem. We did get there late, but that does not excuse the condition of the room we were given. Overall, this hotel is really rundown and because I am not used to staying in places like this, it was really exacerbated! I allow that had the smell not been so overwhelming, I could overlook the other stuff for the night. Never again! I would rather sleep in the car. I'm sure I would have rested just as well. People have commented about the breakfast being good - there is no way I would have been able to eat anything from there. Even after I showered, I still couldn't get that musty, mildew smell out of my nose/head. The photos I looked at did not resemble the room we were given.
The hotel was run down. I had a hard time getting in the door.
The desk clerk was helpful- the bed was very comfortable- the room was clean and fresh. The breakfast was ready before 6am and the lady in chargeof it was friendly. I definitely will use this motel again since we make this trip often.
Bugs in the sheets, crawling on the floor, very bad smell. Toilet seat broken. TV remote not working, but was replaced with working remote when asked for replacement. Pool not operational. Staff nice, but could not off set the poor quality of the room.
We were on the road and had a very late night, and the front desk attendent provided us with EARLY breakfast at no charge. This was very much appreciated since we were exhausted and very hungry. It is not often that you find service like this a a motel. Our stay was very brief, we have no complaints and were very pleasantly surprised by the outstanding hospitality and charming conversation at the front desk.
I was comped for a free night..needed a rollaway..they charged me...tacky!! The doors are made out of wood...in the summer, they expand and are almost impossible to open and close! The water in the room is brown and smells! We found mouse droppings near our snicky-snax and had to through out.! Do noy use the bureau's (your close will smell like mildew!) The carpet's are dirty-do not walk bare footed! I did not see roaches, but i am sure they are there! The pool has had a loose railing for 2 years! Still not fixed! In order to save this hotel ,it is necessary to destroy it!
We were on a family trip to NC and we stayed here one night - myself, husband and 2 small children, along with 2 other couples and their children. Upon pulling in at 9pm, the air conditioner cover was missing front the front. No problem, probably just fell off. Once inside the room, we were met by a crib with 2 wheels missing, slanted and containing a blanket that looked like a dog chewed it. AC was too high, went to lower it and found about 10 dead flys. There was dirt/food particles behind the dresser. Upon entering the bathroom, the toiler paper rolls had about 1/4 paper on them and looked like they were just used. One of the other couples found roaches in the bathroom in the morning. Horrible experience, especially when you have small children with you. I will never trust to stay at another 'Quality' Inn again.
This hotel stated that it had been recently renovated. If it was, it most have only been 1 room. The room was dirty, and the overall experience was poor. I would not stay here again. The staff didn't seem to care about the quality of our stay or customer service. After the past few reviews, online travel website should seriously consider not offering this hotel as an option for consumers.
this hotel was stated as newly remodeled but upon arrival room was not donee dressers were broken the room 2 doors down had the window smashed out and when i asked for a refund the staff became offended and quite rude
Good location Water in first room, air conditioners don't work well, tub had jets that didn't work, plumbing didn't work because office area had to use the water - we ended up moving ''up'' from the queen suite to a king regular room - hair all over the floor, bugs in both rooms - simpering manager who seemed to care but didn't give a break on room rate from this nightmare - I travel here often - never again
We found the hotel on the chain website. GREAT location. 15 minutes to Chincoteague. Right off Rt 13.Rooms were clean and have been remodeled. Close to restruants and stores.
Despite the bad review, I decide to stay here because of the price; however the place wasn?t bad at all. I found out they had renovated all the rooms 2 months ago. I had no problem with my room, plus the high speed internet was surprisingly faster than my cable at home.
Stayed for one night with my family and our 16 day old baby has now broncolitis due to the moldy rooms......pay tyhe extra mone and go elsewhere!!!!!!!!
Nastiest place I ever stayed in my life! Bugs, filth, stains, smells. Only stayed because we were too tired and it was too late to go elsewhere.
Please don't even think about staying at the Quality Inn in Pocomoke City. I reserved a room on line. When I arrived it was dark but the smell of garbage from the garbage plant next door was so strong. When I opened the door to my room all I could smell was mold. I wondered if at one time this motel was flooded. It was the worst motel that I have ever slept in. I checked out by 6:30am because it was so smelly. My pillow and clothes smelled of mildew until I could wash them. Please don't stay at the Quality Inn in Pocomoke City.
This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Room smelled, it was filthy--dead flies on the back window, stains on the sheets, rusted furniture, lights not working, spiders in corners. We arrivied late and had no other option but to stay. Breakfast was with stale food. I protested paying for the room, refusing to sign for my for my credit card, but they sent the charge in anyway. DO NOT STAY HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!
