I think that the hotel overall was a very good choice. It was centrally located to all ferry boats to the islands, Plenty of restaurants in the area, some beautiful vineyards and very comfortable. I would stay there again.
don't know what all the negativity was about. this hotel was clean, the rooms are clean and no smusty smell. you can tell it went thru a making over. The bathrooms are small but how much time do you spend in the bathroom. The bed are soft for my comfert but I wouldn't hesitate to book this place again. The beakfast was hot & cold very good. clean floors and location, theres even a patio to go eat breakfast.
I would recommend this hotel. My only complaint was the room smelled a little. But I borrowed some room deodorizer and it took care of it. My kids had a blast in the pool and the hot tub was actually hot! Breakfast was ok, wish the 'omlets' were made with real eggs. I wished they had a waffle maker instead of a pancake maker. But overall we will definitely stay here again! The place was really quiet at night which we appreciated very much!
Good, clean, convenient and good value. On downside, room smelled vaguely of smoke although it was non-smoking. Also, 'nestled in the heart of Port Clinto'...not really.
We were very pleased with this hotel. The price was very reasonable, and it was conveniently located for our trip's purpose, which was to visit Cedar Point. We had no trouble finding the park from the hotel. The hotel was very clean, with a well-stocked continental breakfast and very friendly staff. We also had a nice view from our room.
staff was very friendly and helpful. room was nice and clean. carpeting alittle stained in room.only complaint was pool was cool. hot tub was great. had towels in pool area.
1. Lake view is not Lake Erie but rather a swamp. 2. There was a shortage of bath and hand towels...had to camp out at front desk at 8:00 pm to get four bath towels and three hand towels for our family of five. 3. There also were no towels at the pool which we never got to use because we couldn't get showered after a long day at a Cedar Point because of there were no bath towels in our room (see #2). 4. Ran out of breakfast foods before 9:15 am when it should have been supplied through 9:30 am...it was implied by staff that it was our fault. Sarcastic tone of one particular server was not appreciated. 5. Extra taxes were charged to our credit card without our knowledge. Just showed up on our credit card bill. 6. The bathroom smelled like urine. 7. Upon check-out, they did not even bother to ask how our stay went. We asked for the manager who didn't seem to care.
I stayed at this hotel for one night with my 8 year old- We were going to Cedar Point the next day- The beds were very comfortable- However- The bathroom is very small The carpet is damp/musty like- you don't really want to walk around barefoot The TV is a 27 inch tube TV The indoor pool area is gross- so dirty..the heat vents, the windows.. I don't know about the pool itself, but the pool needs to be completely torn down and rebuilt.
I stayed here one night on a business trip in Port Clinton. It was a a great night stay. When I asked for an extrra pillow, the staff was very accomodating and brought it tomy room for me. The beds were comfortable, great for a nights sleep and driving in the morning. The hotel had a very homey feel to it, even though I was hundreds of miles away from home. If coming to the area again I will deffinatley stay here no matter the cost!
My husband and I decided to take our kids to Sandusky for Cedar Point, but when we found this hotel,we decided to saty here. The location was amazing. We took them over to Put-In-Bay and did some sight seeing before going to the park. And my husband also too all of us on Lake Erie and taught us how to fish. It was a cozy hotel and the staff was incredible. All of the amenities were great in helping make our stay more comfortable. Would certainly stay here again!
Just returned from a fishing weekend in Port Clinton. The Holiday Inn was in a great location to get to the charming shops and lighthouse in Marblehead, the ferries to the islands, East Harbor State Park, Port Clinton, and the highway. Excellent well-stocked free breakfast; comfortable beds; clean rooms. The Crow's Nest restaurant nearby was fun, with delicious food. Really worth the 3 star rating!
Rooms and halls were fairly clean, Staff was friendly. After our first day excursion to Cedar Point Park, upon returning to our room, my wife noticed that ther bag was open. We didnt think anything of it until the next morning when my daughter discovered that 5 packages of her daily contact lenes were gone. The hotel staff was genuinly concerend and the head of house keeping told us that they had fired 7 people the day before.
Staff was very frendly,Room clean, Free Shuttle to jet express to put in bay was fast and frendly. Room expensive, But expected for a holliday and tourist area. About 3 mi from Port Clinton.
My family (including four children) drove over four hours; we tried to check-in at around midnight only to find that they had given our room to someone else. The clerk's attitude was that there was nothing they could do. I would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone especially if you are planning on making reservations.
Hotel was decent--typical for a $70-80 room, but definitely not worth the $*. Pool area was disappointing. Pool was indoors without the benefit of sliding glass doors opening to the outside or for access to sunbathe. Hotel is on outskirts of Pt. Clinton and not on the lake. Way overpriced even for the location.
