The restaurant and attached bar served above-average food and had entertaining karaoke the night I was there.
The rude staff. The woman at the front desk was unpleasant and seemed annoyed anytime I asked her a question. I don't think she smiled once. My waitress at the restaurant also seemed mad at the world during my encounters with her. What exactly about this hotel made it a three-star establishment? This was two stars, at best. The room had the barest of amenities and the location was in an inconvenient location. I will be avoiding this hotel like the plague. Please do a better job at rating these hotels, or I will be taking my business elsewhere. This isn't the first time I've booked a hotel with Priceline and the star rating was inaccurate.
it was close to everything we needed and clean and quiet
Not much really.
Heat was very noisy and control were bad
Right off the freeway
About 4 miles from downtown, we did a mystery 3-star hotel for 'Downtown Portland'... this was further away than we were expectingClean but little dated looking. Staff is wonderful and very helpful. Lots of kids staying here, got a little loud in the hallway.
the location was bad! I wanted downtown portland and it was way out of the way!
next to the interstate
nosey heaterclose to lots of shopping
Friendly staff. Clean room. Easy location.
Very dated. Mattresses and linens need updating. A microwave and mini fridge seem standard expectations for a room with a 3star rating but were not available in the room.I was surprised to be booked at a Howard Johnson's when I selected a 3star. It was not a 3 star hotel. Not sure if I will use the bid option again.
I liked that it was close to the highway, it was quiet, gave discounts at the restaurants next to it and the price was very reasonable.
I would not put this hotel in the 3 star category. It is old and dingy. The tub had dirt built up on the bottom like no one had washed it for years. Someone had also written with their finger on the mirror 'I'm watching you.'I probably would not stay here again because of the dirtiness and how old it is but it was fine for the price and the location isn't bad if you are looking to stay somewhere close to the highway. It was also very quiet and they gave us discounts for the restaurants next door. The internet is also free.
The lobby waiting area with the fire place and the restaurant 'Egg..' close by.
The beds were absolutely terrible. They creaked every time one moved. There was a bad smell in the room.I know there is a risk in negoitiating the best price with Priceline because you are stuck with the hotel you are given. Based on this experience, it will make me think twice about using Priceline.com in the future.
