This unique motel is centrally located in the heart of the Rose Quarter district of Portland within walking distance of downtown and light rail, bus and train transportation. Portland Pensione boasts spacious guestrooms with convenient mini-fridges and microwaves. Attractions such as the Oregon Convention Center and Lloyd Center are within walking distance. Several dining facilities are also located near the Pensione.
No towels or bedding or anything in the room. The people running it were obviously drug addicts. They rent out rooms by the week so there are a lot of drug addicts living there. I'm a young guy so I wasn't really worried about it but if I were a woman or there with a family, I would be very concerned about safety. It was just gross and dirty all around.
Do your very best to avoid this place
Staff was not responsive and rude. Dirty beds and restroom
Neighborhood was scary and falling apart. Homeless people, boarded up houses, curtains of the hotel were falling down so you could see into filthy rooms. We ended up staying at a different hotel.
Everything else, should be torn down
Close to free rapid transit to downtown
Poorly maintained; limited supplies in room; no clothes hangers
I can't say there was anything. We nearly didn't stay the night
asked for another pillow didn't get. had to take own garbage out. furniture old ,not very clean or attractive
I was truly concerned with this hotel - as an example - the taxi driver who left me asked if I thought I would be ok. The service was non-existent, no room service, cleanliness - no comment, noise level high ( evictions and unhappy clients) when I checked in - after waiting 7 minutes for someone to arrive - I was yelled at for ringing the bell, I was informed there were no refunds but I had to pay before I saw the room. I was very jetlagged, so should have figured right then things were not good but...
I believe I was the victim of bedbugs or other critters - I walked all my belongings into my basement laundry room on my return home, but still suffering the effects. Security was non-existent, services were non-existent - one piece of soap, no towels or cleaning over a 4 day stay, basic level filthy. Noise levels and odd activities - high.
the flying mystery surrounding the motel. the other customers. the ecological ventilation system. the flashing lamp in one of the rooms.
this is hard to tell. the olfactive footprint of the rooms. the fact that closets do not close so well. the closing system of the curtains.
The staff were very nice and friendly, making sure we felt at home, and accommodated an early arrival for us! There was also a fridge in the room which was great for bringing home left-overs.
The location was close to the MAX (about a 10 minute walk), but it was in a questionable neighborhood (there were hypodermic needles on the sidewalks), making us feel unsafe to walk home after dark, so we took a cab. Also, the room had no trash can, and didn't come with towels - we had to request them.
sleeping was not possible due to the ugly smell
nothing is there you can like, take the hotel out of your file!
It was close to the Wonder Ballroom where we went to a concert.
It was very run down and a little shifty. I would not go there again.
