The four sanctuaries, the most notable of which is Beglik Tash, about 3 km away, are the historic sites of a sun worshipping cult, evidence of which has been found here. The sanctuary is built of stone pieces which have been arranged in irregular circles, so as to form a calendar, sundial and observatory.
