Booked at this hotel because they accept pets. Checked in and no one asked about whether I had a pet. I have poor eyesight and did not see the sign about charge for undisclosed pet. They were extremely rude, even hostile when they saw me with my dog the next day. The owner and his son confronted me in a bullying fashion. Have never had this experience at a hotel before during the many years that I have traveled with my dog. Charged my credit card $125, though website for hotel says penalty is $100. This hotel is in a very unattractive location. The bed was very uncomfortable. Linens were poor quality.
fine if just looking for a place tp sleep for a low price.
Overall I had good time at the ABVI. Didn't had any problem with the room. Staff was friendly and helpful.
This place if filthy, the beds are hard, we had to ask for the hot water to be turned on, the toilet overflowed and I was handed a plunger, and an old sheet to wipe up the floor. I will be contacting the CEO. Only stayed becaure the sign in office said no refunds. BEWARE room 32.
The best thing about this hotel is its location. It is pretty much across the street from Miller's. It was also fairly quiet, despite being right on Route 30. The room itself was average size and clean enough. But everything in it was in dire need of updating. The furniture and fixtures were workable but in pretty poor condition. I waited too long to make hotel reservations and we ended up here. Next time I will look farther out of town or pay a little more for a better place. I would not stay here again when there are much nicer places in the area for essentially the same price.
We were charged for our kids twice and they would not fix it. The rooms were filthy. The people hardly spoke English. The A/C didn't work well. The beds are hard as a rock! The continental breakfast was a joke...coffee and mini muffins only. For the cost, spend the extra $* for a better hotel...cuz they will end up charging you the extra money for something anyway!
I will not be booking at this place again or be booking through the travel agency again. There was NO continental breakfast, just coffee and orange juice. Plus we were charged $* when we got there for our children. The dead bolt on the door wouldn't even lock and the bathroom was so small you could barely turn around in it. I could've booked a much nicer place and paid the same amount so I was completely disappointed with this stay.
Stood in line for about 25 minutes to check in. Desk clerk said that the travel agency had not calculated the room charge accurately and that there would be an extra $* charge for two of our children ($* per child). The room was good though - three beds for our family of five. The 'continental breakfast' left MUCH to be desired. It consisted of small muffins, watered-down orange juice and apple juice, and coffee -- and nothing else.
We stayed here in October 2009, and the selected room with three double beds (yes 3!) was great! Just bring your full confirmation sheet and insist on the price anticipated. The room and bathroom were very clean. The staff came in and made our beds, refreshed the towels, and emptied the trash even though we said it wasn't necessary. Though a microwave and a coffee pot might have been desired, they were absent. The room had a TV (fuzzy reception) and refrig. Breakfast has to be eaten in the hotel lobby and not taken to your room.
