The location is just PERFECT. Love the self check-in! Ideal central Roskilde location with good parking. The comfy beds, clean facilities, choices at breakfast, helpful staff and the location. Unable to fully open the window. No air conditioning, very warm room. Sadly I cannot recommend this hotel. Not so much didn't like but something I noticed that could be improved is accessibility. If you had limited mobility, it's not the easiest to get around. Very strong smell of damp in bathroom. A foul smell in the bathroom. While they were not surprised, which is a worry in its own right, they nevertheless gave us an upgrade. Just as well because the original room was about as basic as it gets! A second issue is that the chair in the upgraded room collapsed as we tried to use it! It could have been quite dangerous. Lastly, while there was a sign warning us (one I hadn’t seen), the water was cut off from 7 am to 10 pm for maintenance. I was in the shower when this happened! They were very apologetic and took the couple of drinks we had the evening before off the bill. Directions to car park are needed. The room was quite close to the elevator and one could hear it every time it was used. The breakfast area is quite small and with many people milling around a relatively small breakfast island, it was quite crowded. Whilst it was a nice place, it does not offer value for money. Very large historic hotel in the center of Roskilde. Historic also means somewhat run-down, small rooms, old furniture, carpeting. It doesn't give the feeling of clean because of the way it looks. But there is nothing to report. If you arrive a little before check-in time they allow you access to the room, but with an extra charge..... but if the room is already ready, why charge? Our third floor room had sloping walls where the roof comes down, so we had to be careful on the window side. No tea or coffee facilities in the room, only in reception. The furniture and room is too tired, some renovation is required. Breakfast is quite poor. The room is missing the amenities for eg, kettle, drinking water & coffee. Breakfast variation can be more. I was staying at 3rd floor with no elevator. It is difficult and carry the luggage to the room. Based on other places we stayed along our journey the breakfast was average. No sleep until after 3 a:m. Small room at the street side and a lot of of noise at night. The bed sagged. The pillow was too large and rock hard. I was surprised that I didn't see any recycling bins for paper and plastic. Bed on the soft side. Coffe there was so bad for the price. Not so many facilities. Rooms are a little bit more Spartan. Maybe the access to the hotel could be more signaled with signs and arrows to find it more easily. Very expensive for a standard single bed room. Nail in the floor to the bathroom was uncomfortable to get into the foot, asking 3 different staff about a half working TV and only getting I don't know answer is frustrating, most of the young males that work there, give you a feeling that they have no experience in the business sadly forgot to mention the leaking sink also that they knew about before renting the room, because under the sink was a black plastic trash back that was used to try and stop it from leaking, shouldn't d be allowed to rent that room out honestly hard to see on a picture but the tap is leaking and the rusty nail hurts like he'll to step on. slechte bedden. No phone in the room, No safe, No Mini-fridge. Shower did not work on 3 mornings and I had to walk down 3 flights of stairs to have the issue dealt with. Needed some TLC . Needed new lamp shade. The room lacked of essential amenities, such as a couch, a cosy chair, a kettle, a coffee maker and a mini fridge. It had almost no decoration, even though it had big walls. Plus, early check-in was paid. Didnt order breakfast as room rate was already high. no coffee/ tea/ kettle in room. Single room was okay, but no glasses for example. Nees some construction work. Parking seemed to be an issue. We kept getting parking tickets. The hotel staff said they would take care of the tickets and we should not worry. The cot for baby was without matress, just a thin and hard one :( bed was very uncomfirtable. Finding the carpark!!! It was the worst one I have ever had to find as the postcode did not help. 4 laps later of the one way system and driving at 10 mph we found the tiny left turn into the correct area to go right under the tiny arch to park. 4 spaces were there. However, super secure when found. Breakfast was too limiting - we paid extra as to fill us up before a busy day but we were hungry by lunch. Not the hotels fault but the town is dead after 9pm and there is no way of getting any food, however it does mean the area is very quiet even though you’re in the middle of it. Room was slightly dated with its dark wooden decor, however we were told this is the renovated side. Lift was broken however stairs are wide with good rails.

Great town location. Right in the middle of the main precinct. Free 24 hour parking all bookable when you walk in (and allowed to stay after check out as long as you declared when entering details). Self check in available at the main desk. We requested a kettle in the room and it was there waiting for us to collect. Our room had double doors to a balcony which was fantastic to see our hire car and ventilation during the heat wave. We had a twin room and just pulled the beds apart for more room. Room was clean and tidy although we couldn’t work out how to get the sockets to turn on when the switch is at the door. I had to go to reception to ask. The room was good value. However breakfast was around £14 each and too basic for us. Very limited options. Best ask before ordering if you’re a fussy eater. Bedding lovely and clean and fresh. Bathroom (private) clean, white towels, and hot shower. Would definitely stay again for another city break. Perfect location. Clean and nice room. Good bed. Peaceful room. Free parking.
