Payless has great customer service for the situation we were out in. The insurance prices are crazy but at the end of the day it wasn’t Payless fault. This is a country requirement that we did understand prior to booking. The pick up was easy and Luis was great!! Drop off was simple as well and super friendly. Car was cleaned when we picked up and that was appreciated.

The check-in process took forever. It was a large line and at the beginning the attendance. Chatting among each other, Delaying the process. Finally, a young man came in. And checked in as many people as the previous to attendance did together. I’ve been to this car rental before, and it brought a memory of the last time we experience the same thing. Very frustrating.

I prepaid for my car only to get to the counter and wait for just under an hour. Once assigned a car, I again waited because I was then told my car was double booked. I finally got a car, and it was a great car. However, after turning it in on time I was charged for 3 additional days because they had me down as driving a completely different car. Definitely will Pay More next time and rent from someone else.

Getting from baggage claim to Payless terminal had to stand in long lines to get on the bus. The customer service agent was very nice and friendly. We ended up getting an electric car, but never told us about what charging stations we could use being not familiar with that type of electric car and where the charging stations were a big problem wasted a lot of time during our driving experience, trying to find chargers that would work.

Payless always comes through, the pickup and dropoff process is fast and easy never any issue.. The payless cars are very updated and reliable, the price is always affordable and the deposit is always given back as soon as you drop it off, no extra charges or fees.. I highly recommend them, been using them for the past 3 yrs everytime i travel and not 1 issue..

I arrived at the airport, and the company was closed. I booked my rental three months ago; now I have to go to the open rental company and pay the going price. Air lines run 24 hours a day, and so should rental car companies at the airport.

Horrible experience. I picked car up to a car with no brakes , filthy and no charger installed. I asked to replace car and was told I’m the one who picked an economy car. Rude! Then replaced car had faulty engine and brakes problems but I kept it since it as a hassle for them to replace. Car was also filthy. When I returned the car they told me I had to go vacuum the car from sand that had no foot mat. Rep stated on the paperwork it was 3 mats and was a lie. Only 2 back mats came with car. Only reason I didn’t score it poor is because I survived this death trap!

Until the rental car industry drastically shortens the time from the time one walks up to the rental counter until pickup of the vehicle, I for one will not be happy with the pickup procedure. The return was quick and excellent. I was not aware of understood the breakdown of the final bill.

The lobby where the Thrifty desk is located is crazy loud. I could barely hear the representative when I called the location directly. It completely put me off, but I stuck with it. I had no problem with the car or staff. The walk to the lot for picking up the car is a bit of a pain but I'm not sure how they could work around that since the office is right at the dock. Overall a good experience.

Rental car level was wrong when we picked up, then they lied about the coverage and he added more than asked for. We went to pick up the car and the lady outside then said we have an electric car, but we had a large SUV. Made me prove it in an email after the guy inside said we had a small SUV. It was a joke from start to finish.

I loved the car loved the easy pick up and return of the rental car. The airport made it very self explanatory to get the car back with white letters on the road to direct you back to the rental car return. Made me smile. I had to extend my rental due to not finishing the work I came down for and the company made it very easy to extend.

Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Cons:

Mechanical condition of vehicles was big problem. Went through 3 cars in a week. One (the 1st) had brake trouble, another (the 2nd) actually broke down on the freeway 20 min. after pick-up. Also, all offices closing at 6 PM is a big problem if you need to replace a broken car after that hour.

Very quick and easy drop off place. Then got a quick ride to the terminal.

Cons:

It was hard to find the drop off site by GPS so we had to rely on signs alone. Upon exiting, the road split and it didn't tell us which one to take so we had to ask for directions. Other than that, it was fine.

The car I rented was not fully cleaned inside or out, there was nowhere to make damages on the vehicle prior to rental. The gas tank was only filled to 3/4 when I received it.

I asked for a Toyota Camry or equivalent. They had one, but the agent asked if I wanted to be bumped up to a BMW 3. Between him wearing a mask, having a glass wall between us, him speaking rather quietly and me being 75, I thought he said "free upgrade". Turns out it cost me $150 for three days. Nice car but I didn't need the upgrade and would have declined had he communicated more clearly. Other than that, not a bad experience.

The only downside to my experience was being quoted the cost, paying it upfront and then having it double after the rental. Still try to navigate Sixt’s support which has so far been akin to climbing Mt. Everest.

Several vehicles I chose - but didn't drive away - wreaked of cigarettes! Are you guys charging/fining people afterwards when they blantantly disregard the agreement terms that say NO SMOKING - because National is clearly NOT doing anything to actually clean the horrible smell from the vehicles. This is a big problem I always have with National and in general the rental industry effectively encourages people to smoke in their vehicles as the do nothing to enforce - or recitify the problem after the fact.

There is no AVIS in GIG - only Unidas, which was never mentiond. Even the last Mail said go to "AVIS Counter".. the signs in the Airport for rental car lead everywhere but not to rental car, needed help from 2 airport employees to find it. Even after traveling really often... Drop Off was the same, signs on airport leading to an Unidas Station opposite side of the street from airport, which we thought it is correct, but its not..

The experience was terrible. I reserved online (easily). arrived early, got in line, and scanned the QR code as requested to expedite my checkin. After entering my DL and CC information, I received an alert on phone telling me my reservation was confirmed and the pickup counter was Fast Break. What wa “Fastbreak?” I inquired and was told it’s a location across the parking lot and J could just pick up my car. I left the line and lugged my luggage across a very cracked and potholed parking lot with no walkway to FastBreak where the receptionist was extremely rude and told me I did not have a reservation. I showed her the message I received. She said I needed a number which I did not have. She told me to essentially help myself. I eventually found out I was at the wrong counter and I had no Fastbreak Number. I had no idea what that was but she refused to help me or even tell me what Fastbreak was even when I asked for an explanation. I would not have left my place in line if I had not received the notice in my phone. I went back to the Budget counter (note I had family in tow, with lots of luggage) across the broken parking lot, back to the line I had left, now twice as long (4 times as long as I was midway through the previous line). After over an hour, I finally picked up my car. Overall the pick up facility was in terrible shape. Only the lady who check me out as I drove off the parking lot offered a greeting and smile. There is no customer service elsewhere at the LAX location - everyone there seemed to either hate the customers or their job or both. The random erroneous email telling me to pick up at Fastbreak was a terrible idea for whoever put that in place. Also the bathroom is in terrible shape. The door is extremely damaged and nicked all over. The lady at the Miramar location where I dropped off the car was very sweet despite being terribly busy as a one man show for the location. Overall the electirc car was new, drove well. The outside was dirty (it had just rained, but the interior was clean. The price was great. I noticed during pickup at the airport, 6 shuttles from Alamo/Enterpise passed by before one old dirty bus from Budget came. (Note I had the same price offer from multiple car rental companies when I was booking and purposely picked Budget!) The shuttle driver was nice and appreciative of the tip I gave him. I recall telling myself multiple times during the experience, in the future, as long as I have other options, I would never choose Budget again. It was a very (and unnecessarily) unpleasant experience, especially after a overseas flight. I would also recommend anyone else from picking Budget, at least the LAX location. Hope this helps your team improve your operations.

This is one of the worst car rental experiences I’ve had. Kayak is terrible to get to. In spite of all the push ads I’ve received from them they have not responded and customer service telephone numbers give out wrong information and Europcar refuses to attend to my rental agreement changes stating that I’ve booked a 3rd party such as Kayak. So you guys do not add value. You just make life more difficult for car renters

I was able to choose the exact car I wanted and was even able to reserve a cooler and boogie board to use for the week. The car was in like-new condition. The free shuttle was convenient, fast and the drivers were nice. The location was a little bit further from the airport, but it wasn't a problem.

It was the first time we rented via Turo, so I don't have a good base reference to compare in general, and can only compare to car rental experiences with commercial fleets (like Budget or Enterprise). In general it was okay -- we made it to where we were going and back, with no major issues. It's doable. However, there were some "surprises" where things didn't quite got as we expected: * We made rental reservation with expectation that we're picking up at the airport. When we got there, it turned out that the car is not at the airport, and the address given to us turned out to be what seemed to be Portland's airport Fire Rescue Tower (where, obviously, we can't even walk to or be at). We called the owner, and turned out that the car is at some house that's "not far" from the airport, and gave us new address. So additional expense of taking Uber/Lyft to get to the car (and apparently that address exists in two neighboring towns, and somehow Uber/Lyft took us first to the wrong one, so we had to take another ride, but that's not a Turo issue, just more expense as a consequence of car not being at the airport as promised). * When we got there, we called the owner to get the keys: "-- Keys are under front door's floormat. -- Nope, they're not there. -- Then try mailbox? -- Yes, they're there." The owner wasn't there, which is okay to do this all remote, but would be nicer if owner was in general "on top of things" such as where the car is and where it is expected to be picked up, where exactly are its keys, etc. * Then owner requested that prior to return we take the car to be washed and cleaned inside and out. We neither planned on looking for car detailing places in Portland, nor for time that it would take away from sightseeing, nor for extra substantial expense it would be. We pushed back and the owner backed off saying that he'll let it go due to confusion with pickup location (and apparently he didn't send some email that he was supposed to send, or something along those lines). * And while the car wasn't too dirty, it wasn't clean to begin with (which made detailing request that more amusingly odd). Crumbs on floor and seats and luggage compartment. Worst part was that windshield was dirty on the inside that was minor unpleasant at daytime, but as driving progressed into night time, it was quite significant as it was blurring lights and affected visibility substantially. * We also added additional driver thru Turo and let the owner know. The owner requested that we send him picture of drivers license directly to him. We refused (as it didn't seem right, given that Turo is the one that manages that aspect) and he backed off. * Of course, additional expense of Uber/Lyft after return drop-off as we weren't dropping it off at the airport as originally planned. So all in all we probably spent additional $50-60 in Uber/Lyft for getting to and from cars location instead of it being in the airport, and lost about 3+ hours for dealing with additional unplanned travel. I didn't rent the car in the end. I arrived at the place with a $30 fee in my mind and due to hidden fees they were gonna charge me almost $400, that's 13 times more than expected! What a rip off.

They require a lot more info than regular rental places including references, social security number, place of employment, and own private insurance. It was extremely off putting.

Advertised at airport, but it was off location. Had to pay an additional $30 to leave the car in long term parking since the office was closed (at 3pm on a Monday) after being told they should have been open! Labor Day! Totally false and the manager would not work with us on it whatsoever even though kayak said they would be open!

They were unable to see that I had pre paid for the car 2 weeks prior so it was a little confusing when I picked up the vehicle as it appeared that I had never paid for the car. Everything else went smooth!

The cars are Filthy inside out. they don't take time to clean them, i had to change 3 cars to finally agree on one. the first one had a bold tires, the second one had scratches all over the car but you can't determine the damages as the body is dirty. the last one was OK with a bad tire sensor that kept displaying an error every time you start the car plus a change oil message that kept prompting. If i have time i would report them to the BBB. Not worth the money i paid. VERY disappointing that kayak list them on their website. i use to trust kayak!

Car was clean & ready to go. It was easy to move my reservation when my flight was delayed. My only complaint is the "airport" fee, when you have to Bart to target parking lot to get your rental
