Recommend for those budget travelers who like to walk around the park and amongst greenery yet still be near to the bustle Orchard and Dhoby Ghaut MRT station. This lodge is owned and managed by YWCA, Singapore. sg 03/09 The lodge appears at the top of the Fort Canning but it is easy to miss as it is tucked at the end of other buildings. It is a brick and white painted building. Located at the foot of Fort Canning, a designated park, the lodge sits on a little rise with access to Penang Road and Orchard Road via cutting through a mall. Down the road is the Singapore River and Clarke Quay. Fort Canning was the seat of the ancient Malay rulers who had a palace at the top of the hill. Today it is a park with walking and jogging paths as well as some historical tidbits of interest incorporated.
