Cons:We were given a quote for 222,80 USD but they charged us $397
They charged me extra for gas when the tank was only half full and I returned it that way. Also, the Jerusalem office is a bit difficult to navigate. The car they gave me was very nice. getting them on the phone was also difficult.
The service could be better. I had to wait for about 3 hours to get my car. That was after a long flight. The car I got was old. It had more than 40k kilometers on it.
Pros:Great customer service. Pick up went very well.
Cons:My reservation cost $67. But I ended up paying over $200. Insurance was not included in online booking ($15 a day).
Pros:The car ran fine and we were able to go where we needed and come back without it breaking down.
Cons:For a rental car, it was very old with 73,000+kilometers on it. It had all kinds of scratches, dings, and dents. It was unwashed with bird poop all over it, including the windshield. The inside was dirty, too. I was threatened that even though my credit card would cover the collision damage waiver cost, if I didn't purchase through them they would charge me $3,000 on the spot. Once I saw the car and all the dings, I knew I was had, but I needed to go because we had to be somewhere and only had 24 hours. The checkin process was lazy at best. There was no receipt for checking the car in. I would have to go back up to the office and wait for a receipt if I wanted one. I've had a good experience with with Sixt in other countries but will likely not rent in Israel again. Certainly never from the Hilton branch in Tel Aviv.
Pros:Nothing
Cons:1. You have to pay upfront, so when you want to cancel for any reason you have to pay them for 3 days car rental, even though you don't rent from them a car. 2. They say they answer the phone 24/7. Don't buy that. We tried to call the US office and the office in Israel many times but they didn't pick up the phone. 3. We booked to rent a car with Sixt for 17 days in Israel. Ten days before the day we were suppose to rent the car, we've found that we need to add one more day. We've tried to contact Sixt for two days, we called them around 12 times in different hours of the day but no one picked up the phone. At the end we decided to cancel the booking with Sixt and we rented the car with Budget for 18 days. With Budget we didn't have to pay upfront and their service was a way better. Last time that we try Sixt. 4. At the end we had to pay to Sixt $90 for no reason. Poor, poor service.
Pros:At least they picked the phone at customer service after "only" 5 minutes..
Cons:- More than 40 minute wait at the airport to pick up car as there was only one receptionist. - Old car, with clunky shift gear (detail that was not properly highlighted when made booking online). Wanted another $3 for automatic. - Car has been hit all around. Poor condition and look. - As usual, they do not show the required insurance amount in advance, spiking price significantly at the counter. - When called to extend, they require to get physically to one of their offices to hear about special deals. Why this cannot be online? - Looks like everything they can make difficult they will certainly do.
Pros:The car itself was good
Cons:The staff lied to me about the return time and when I returned the car was charged an extra day. I tried to explain the situation to the staff at the Sixt office but they were completely rude and unhelpful.
Cons:- Car was ghetto and old. And I didn't get the type I requested. - Very overpriced. Mandatory Insurance and taxes skyrocketed the price. - Customer service wasn't amazing overall.
Pick up was slow - sat there for 20 minutes waiting for the car to roll in. Then a couple of days before flying back our flight was canceled and we had to add a day to the trip. Spent hours on the phone with an IVR, when eventually we got to a person she heard the details and then threw us back to IVR. We simply gave up, sent an email to the address from which we got the contract (no response…) and just kept the car. Never seen such customer service before.
