Only 30 minutes east of the great city of Seattle, the Salish Lodge and Spa interweaves tradition and modernity to provide a complete experience for those who choose to make it their temporary home.

The property is highlighted by stunning views of the great outdoors. Situated in the hills of the Northwest, the lodge carefully incorporates the architecture of nature with its own. Large windows look out onto the landscape, which has a varied topography, complete with pine trees, conifers, running water, and a waterfall.

The dining experience is quintessential Northwest, both charming and classy, complete with the views needed to make the experience extra special. Perhaps the highlight of the cuisine at the Salish Lodge and Spa is the home-grown honey. The Lodge has its own apiary, which helps guests not only enjoy the finest locally produced honey, but plays a part in the rejuvenation of the country’s bee population.

A prominent offshoot of the dining experience is the Chef’s Studio. This is a learning experience that guests can take advantage of in order to learn some new skills in the kitchen. They will be educated regarding how to incorporate freshly grown ingredients and spices to make dishes as iconic as those at the Salish Lodge and Spa.

The spa is literally a full body experience. Body therapies, massage, and skin care come together to provide guests with a pampering they will remember.

A trip to Salish Lodge and Spa allows for a sampling of the Northwest surrounded by comfort and style.

9.7 Wonderful
Pros:Great room & restaurant. The room service guy was very helpful and pleasant. When I explained that I wanted items from the restaurant but had not had good service in the restaurant, he allowed me to order from the full menu.
Cons:I switched to room service because I was sat at a small table with the sun directly in my eyes. It was the couple across from me who were kind enough to lower the shade. They even mentioned to me that they noticed the poor service I was receiving compared to them. There were 6 open tables by the windows with a view. Kind of a bummer for my birthday.

8.2 Very good
Pros:This is a both liked and did not like. There was a bat hanging on the screen door from our room to the balcony. It was kind of cool because we got to watch as it stretched its wings in preparation for flight. At the same time, it hung there for quite a while (a couple hours at least) so it was also kind of creepy.

9.7 Wonderful
Pros:I like the commitment to using healthy eco materials throughout the property. A real gem for those of us with chemical sensitivities. It is done right at Sleeping Lady! Between the forested setting and exquisite meals it is a very relaxing experience staying at this beautiful, natural resort. I love how well I feel after sleeping here. The Icicle River is gorgeous and the artwork strewn around the property adds to the beautiful feel of the place. The organic gardens are a real pleasure to stroll through. The sense of being in the middle of a forest has been very well preserved throughout the property.
Cons:Wish more beds were king size rather than queen size. But still very comfortable and no trouble sleeping. So not a big deal. The mattress was very comfortable on my bad back, which more than made up for the smaller sized bed.
