The hotel staff was very friendly, particularly in the dining room (for breakfast, etc.) In fact, the restaurant staff was incredible accommodating and helpful. Additionally, they were helpful about where to go, and what to see.
The hallways were never vacuumed, and it seemed like it could have been a bit cleaner. Also, you can only get Internet access for free for 30 minutes downstairs in the lobby. Otherwise, there was a charge.
Hotel was really close to the free shuttle to travel around.
My wife and I stayed here in March 2010. The staff was more than helpful with tips on getting around Sydney, attractions, restaurants etc. The room was comfortable, quiet and very clean with nice decorations. Very close to the Central Train/tram station and the free downtown bus. Good place to get acclimated to Austrailia.
The hotel was very similar to what you would find in the US. Our room was a standard king and had a mini-fridge, which came in handy. Quiet place and had no trouble checking in. We arrived early and they held our bags for us until we could check in. It's a block from the Central train station which will take you anywhere around Sydney. We didn't try the restaurants because we were always out in the city. They seemed okay, but a bit expensive though everything in Sydney is a bit expensive. The pool was fine and the hot tub was okay, just not very hot. Overall, it was a nice hotel, decent location, and an excellent staff. Felt very safe.
