Horrible - do not book with NextCar. They denied my car insurance because I was not the primary policyholder. I have full coverage insurance, so there was no logistical reason to deny it. The supplemental insurance cost as much as the rental itself. I was never told at the time of booking that I would be forced to use their insurance if I wasn’t the primary policyholder. I was only told so 24 hours out from my booking. I’m actively trying to get a refund for this.

They said they would refund the cab ride from and to the airport with proper receipts, and they did.

Cons:

My plane was late and I am not from where I needed the car. I was told the system was down for maintenance (at 11 pm?) and they would not be able to give me a car - they did not expect the system to come back up for 3 hours. In other words, I had to find my own way to my hotel and back again the next day to pick up the car once the system was up. No company runs maintenance at that hour! The guy behind the desk was, in my opinion, a bit too glib about the situation and offered no help. I was quite disturbed by his attitude! It was not easy to find a cab at that hour.

Pros:

I reserved a car and when I got there they informed me that they were all out of cars. I started getting upset cause it took me an hour to get there and the guy asked if I would be ok with a mini van. I said ok and figured I was gonna end up paying 3 times more. They apologized for the inconvience and discounted the entire thing so I paid the same price for the car. They had really great customer service.

I'm not usually a minivan guy (It was really nice though).

I arrived at the location and they didn't have my reservation and there was no vehicle available for me at that time. I had to go across town and came back with nothing. The people at Enterprise acted as if they didn't even care. Very disappointed and will never go there again.

Cons:

Pickup / drop-off awful. If theres rain, Avis/Budget requires customers to walk in the rain to terminal to return cars rather than have staff in return lot. Lines in parking lot trying to find a parkingspot(again need staff) and lines in terminal for returns. Enterprise/Alamo/Hertz had on-site staf

The people that I dealt with were all very professional and very nice. This rental was easy and a great experience.

Cons:

When I picked up the car, it didn't have a full tank of gas. The needle was clearly below the full mark. I was headed to Costco in preparation for my drive on the next day and the tank took over five dollars of gas. Gas that day was $1.70/gallon. That is not a full tank in anyone's book. Otherwise everything else was great.

Car was very clean and in great shape.

Cons:

The first car I was given was an SUV that I was not expecting as I preferred a sedan. In addition, this car had flat tire that forced me to return to the rental station after leaving to exchange. I was not happy having to walk back and forth from the lot with my belongings twice in rain.

They Don't answer the phone in Tallahassee. Our flight was delayed, we called repeatedly to let then know. They ended up giving our car to someone else. Hope we get our money back. We had to make other arrangements to get to our destination.

I was able to choose the exact car I wanted and was even able to reserve a cooler and boogie board to use for the week. The car was in like-new condition. The free shuttle was convenient, fast and the drivers were nice. The location was a little bit further from the airport, but it wasn't a problem.

It was the first time we rented via Turo, so I don't have a good base reference to compare in general, and can only compare to car rental experiences with commercial fleets (like Budget or Enterprise). In general it was okay -- we made it to where we were going and back, with no major issues. It's doable. However, there were some "surprises" where things didn't quite got as we expected: * We made rental reservation with expectation that we're picking up at the airport. When we got there, it turned out that the car is not at the airport, and the address given to us turned out to be what seemed to be Portland's airport Fire Rescue Tower (where, obviously, we can't even walk to or be at). We called the owner, and turned out that the car is at some house that's "not far" from the airport, and gave us new address. So additional expense of taking Uber/Lyft to get to the car (and apparently that address exists in two neighboring towns, and somehow Uber/Lyft took us first to the wrong one, so we had to take another ride, but that's not a Turo issue, just more expense as a consequence of car not being at the airport as promised). * When we got there, we called the owner to get the keys: "-- Keys are under front door's floormat. -- Nope, they're not there. -- Then try mailbox? -- Yes, they're there." The owner wasn't there, which is okay to do this all remote, but would be nicer if owner was in general "on top of things" such as where the car is and where it is expected to be picked up, where exactly are its keys, etc. * Then owner requested that prior to return we take the car to be washed and cleaned inside and out. We neither planned on looking for car detailing places in Portland, nor for time that it would take away from sightseeing, nor for extra substantial expense it would be. We pushed back and the owner backed off saying that he'll let it go due to confusion with pickup location (and apparently he didn't send some email that he was supposed to send, or something along those lines). * And while the car wasn't too dirty, it wasn't clean to begin with (which made detailing request that more amusingly odd). Crumbs on floor and seats and luggage compartment. Worst part was that windshield was dirty on the inside that was minor unpleasant at daytime, but as driving progressed into night time, it was quite significant as it was blurring lights and affected visibility substantially. * We also added additional driver thru Turo and let the owner know. The owner requested that we send him picture of drivers license directly to him. We refused (as it didn't seem right, given that Turo is the one that manages that aspect) and he backed off. * Of course, additional expense of Uber/Lyft after return drop-off as we weren't dropping it off at the airport as originally planned. So all in all we probably spent additional $50-60 in Uber/Lyft for getting to and from cars location instead of it being in the airport, and lost about 3+ hours for dealing with additional unplanned travel. The rest was okay. Car drove fine and didn't give any problems.

I came to pick up the car and nobody was in the office so I had to wait for them to reach and got the car late. Also, I asked for some extra to be deducted from the deposit but they made a mistake and I had to pay it separately. They did give me an upgrade because they were late but I just end up spending more gas because I got bigger car..

Had to return the first car like the front was gonna fall off exchange it. The next day upgrade was not much better. Told the attendant that I would bring it back on Tuesday, April 30 by 9 AM the original contract was for 22 April through 29 April and again I told the attendant that my flight was on the 30th so I have a receipt showing that and now they’re trying to charge me for an extra day so I probably would never do business with priceless again thank you

The facility was dingy and the pick up and drop off processes were over complicated and extremely slow. My experience was fine but at least a third of the other customers ahead of me had issues with their reservation. The car itself was fine and the price was good, but I feel like I won a lottery of sorts and I don't think I'll choose them again.

The car was dirty when we picked it up. It only had a single floor mat il and it was in the back. It was missing a hubcap and had body damage to the right rear. The final price was much higher than was quoted. The listing said that the car was "in terminal" but it was not it required a shuttle ride. Overall experience was poor. I would rather have a bus pass than rent from these people again.
