Staff were friendly and helpful. Mel's Diner open 24 hours with good food and great staff! Machines were fairly loose with a good variety of gaming options.
Handicapped room was very small and had a tub/shower rather than walk-in. Bathroom door looked like it needed cleaning. Used to come here 20+ years ago and the place seems a lot smaller now. I remember the place as more family-friendly, but not so much anymore. Only the casino and Mel's Diner are open 24 hours. Everything else closes up - even the coffee shop. Since place is so secluded, more services should be available 24 hours.
Room was old and in need of an update, and to make that worse, it was dirty and smelled of smoke. TV was the old type and it did not work. We paid $166.45 and if it were $45.00, it would have been to much! NEVER AGAIN!
It was convinient place to stop and easy to satay at with places to eat
easy location off freeway and reasonable price
The room wasn't clean and there was a musty ,smokey smell.
The rooms were very dirty. Bathroom floors were sticky. furniture had not been wiped down we could see rings from previous guests cups on them. Wallpaper and floorboards coming off in rooms and hall ways.
My husband and I take over night trips to Boomtown just for their Famous All You Can Eat Lobster Buffet.
It was an easy check in. Beds were comfortable. Staff friendly but burnt out. The breakfasts were reasonable prices.
The bathroom walls were dirty. They taped the remote control instead of buying a new one. The back was broken so batteries had to be taped in so I couldn't changed channels on TV.
Great location with knowledgeable staff and facilities.
Cannot think of anything.
Food room people
We reserved a non-smoking room and were assigned a smoking room. The surly manager told us that because we booked through a "third party" , Boomtown did not have to give us a non-smoking room. We were told there were no other rooms available (there were actually). The ice machine was right outside our door (no alcove) and we could hear it all night long. The lingering smell of smoke burned my husband's eyes. The shower drain was a hole in the floor. Carpet was badly stained. Our view was of a wall and the interior of the hotel. Pool could not be used due to structural damage.
The Bistro 2100 was good. We had breakfast there and although they were super slow, the food was good and the staff was friendly. The front desk staff was very nice and the one gal from housekeeping that I spoke with was very friendly and accommodating. (She was on the night shift)
Where do I begin?? We were disappointed that the pool was drained since we had hoped to use it and then had a lovely view from our room of the empty pool area. After coming back to our room late at night, we find our bed made (and not well, sheets half on the floor on one side) and all our used towels still on the bathroom floor as well as something tossed in the toilet and not flushed. I went down to complain and was told there was no one to hold accountable since the maid service is outsourced. I did get my breakfast the next morning comped but felt that no one really cared to take responsibility. I asked for fresh towels and shampoo. About 20 minutes later I received my towels but had to ask for shampoo. The housekeeper that brought them was very nice however. I found out the next morning that my son and his girlfriend did not get fresh towels in their room either but by that time, we had already checked out or I would have complained again to the front desk. We also ate at the deli next to Bistro 2100. My Dad ordered a sandwich and waited for nearly 30 minutes. We watched other sandwiches and pizzas come out that were ordered after his. He complained and they just kept telling him they were busy and sorry. Being busy is understandable but not filling orders in the order they are received is unacceptable. My boyfriend and I had a "slice" of pizza which was so greasy we were unable to finish it and I ended up sick that night. I had heard such great things about Boomtown over the years but had never stayed there before. I stay in Reno 6-8 times each year and I have to say this experience was my first and last at Boomtown.
Great all you can eat Lobster dinner. The food at all the restaurants, where great.
The tub/shower was slick as snot. It took three days to get a stickem mat for the tub/shower. House cleaning was terrible.
