Pros:

Staff was nice; pick up and drop off were easy. Car was good for what we needed.

Cons:

The car wasn’t luxurious- but I didn’t pay for a luxury model, so that’s definitely not Enterprise’s fault.

Cons:

There was no car available when I showed up. The one person working there did not help me find another Budget location with a car, so I had to go to Enterprise and pay double the amount due to the increased rates of same day rental reservations. I won’t use Kayak for car rentals again either.

The car at least worked.

Cons:

Staff were frustrated and rude. They could not add insurance even though I wanted it, asked me to call someone else to purchase. It took and hour and 15 minutes to get a car, and it was not cleaned nor was the gas to fill. I will not rent from this venue again.

Budget could have the car available that was rented. Would not rent a vehicle again thru Kayak.

I thought I was renting a full size car. My pick up time was Friday at 6pm, but they close at 6pm so not sure why they would allow me to schedule that time. I called them Friday May 5 around 3 or 3:30pm to see if I could come early and was told that they did not have a full size car at that time. I arrived around 530-545pm. They still didn't have a full size car, the gentleman took me outside to a 2016 Nissan Rogue, he told me it was an upgrade. I was disappointed because I was traveling and really wanted a trunk. I currently own a 2015 Nissan Rogue and the one I rented didn't have half the stuff my 2015 has. This was a base model all the way around no upgrades. I was supposed to return the car Sunday May 14, but I was so dissatisfied, I took it back Saturday morning, May 13 at 9am, when they were supposed to open. Well myself and another gentleman waited outside for about 15 minutes when the lady finally arrived. She walked right by us and did not say a word. She never spoke or greeted us never apologized for her tardiness. Once we were inside she asked what we were here for we replied drop off. She took the keys went and looked at the cars came back and gave us a receipt. This was my first rental with HERTZ, I normally use Enterprise but decided to give HERTZ a try. NEVER AGAIN, ENTERPRISE HERE I COME!!!

Third time in a row and across multiple agencies as well as heard the same from coworkers. Car was filthy, full of human and pet hair, dog slime, sticky seats and console, trash in the compartments and my son found a large knife in the overhead as we were driving it home!! then 10 hours of everyone miserable due to allergic response to all the pet dander in the cab. All after booking the car for a noon pickup only to find out that the agency closed at noon, then had to rebook to pickup at the airport making us late, then they could not take a debit card and said that my refund for the first booking will take up to three weeks! Horrible experience, I have to rent again for this weekend, not sure what I am going to do.

Pros:

Stumbled on Kayak in a last ditch effort to get any car for the weekend. Everything worked out perfect. The Hertz shop had a small and very busy Friday, but well trained staff that got me In my car in record breaking time (my experience). (Apparent) manager checked me out when I returned and he was excellent as well: Honest and determined leaders can ensure integrity in service for customers. Thanks again.

It was terrible, the customer service was poor. Our car broke down and they wouldn’t compensate us with a new one. Our reservation got screwed up so they said we had to rent a whole new car instead of just doing a vehicle exchange. Me receipt said jan 13 - jan 17 but for some reason the customer service reps kept saying that the vehicle was due on jan 14 and although I showed them my receipt with the proper information, they made us pay for a new car. And on top of that, they were rude as can be. This was the worst car rental experience of my life. I’m never using Avis again.

1) The car needed new wiper blades and it was hard to see in the rain due to bad streaking on the windshield. 2) All the glass on the inside was dirty and had a hazy film on it.

The car smelled of smoke strongly and of fragrances to cover the smoke odor which made the overall experience even worse. Otherwise, the rental experience was good, and the car functioned well.

This location was top notch! They were very helpful, and upgraded our car size because that was the only car they had available at that location. The young man that checked the car out to me was superb very kind. We extended our rental 3 days and they gave us the same price. I will definitely rent from them again! Way to go Virginia Beach (Virginia Beach Blvd) location! Thank you!

Pros:

Great price on last minute reservation for a week. Loved the Prius Hydrid provided and the ease of return.

Cons:

Needing to use a rental car in the first place, but couldnt have had a better afoordable experience.

I was able to choose the exact car I wanted and was even able to reserve a cooler and boogie board to use for the week. The car was in like-new condition. The free shuttle was convenient, fast and the drivers were nice. The location was a little bit further from the airport, but it wasn't a problem.

It was the first time we rented via Turo, so I don't have a good base reference to compare in general, and can only compare to car rental experiences with commercial fleets (like Budget or Enterprise). In general it was okay -- we made it to where we were going and back, with no major issues. It's doable. However, there were some "surprises" where things didn't quite got as we expected: * We made rental reservation with expectation that we're picking up at the airport. When we got there, it turned out that the car is not at the airport, and the address given to us turned out to be what seemed to be Portland's airport Fire Rescue Tower (where, obviously, we can't even walk to or be at). We called the owner, and turned out that the car is at some house that's "not far" from the airport, and gave us new address. So additional expense of taking Uber/Lyft to get to the car (and apparently that address exists in two neighboring towns, and somehow Uber/Lyft took us first to the wrong one, so we had to take another ride, but that's not a Turo issue, just more expense as a consequence of car not being at the airport as promised). * When we got there, we called the owner to get the keys: "-- Keys are under front door's floormat. -- Nope, they're not there. -- Then try mailbox? -- Yes, they're there." The owner wasn't there, which is okay to do this all remote, but would be nicer if owner was in general "on top of things" such as where the car is and where it is expected to be picked up, where exactly are its keys, etc. * Then owner requested that prior to return we take the car to be washed and cleaned inside and out. We neither planned on looking for car detailing places in Portland, nor for time that it would take away from sightseeing, nor for extra substantial expense it would be. We pushed back and the owner backed off saying that he'll let it go due to confusion with pickup location (and apparently he didn't send some email that he was supposed to send, or something along those lines). * And while the car wasn't too dirty, it wasn't clean to begin with (which made detailing request that more amusingly odd). Crumbs on floor and seats and luggage compartment. Worst part was that windshield was dirty on the inside that was minor unpleasant at daytime, but as driving progressed into night time, it was quite significant as it was blurring lights and affected visibility substantially. * We also added additional driver thru Turo and let the owner know. The owner requested that we send him picture of drivers license directly to him. We refused (as it didn't seem right, given that Turo is the one that manages that aspect) and he backed off. * Of course, additional expense of Uber/Lyft after return drop-off as we weren't dropping it off at the airport as originally planned. So all in all we probably spent additional $50-60 in Uber/Lyft for getting to and from cars location instead of it being in the airport, and lost about 3+ hours for dealing with additional unplanned travel. The rest was okay. Car drove fine and didn't give any problems.
