coffee maker did not work.Plug in sink did not close
Staff was great! Great restaurants nearby.
Hard to park-had to use valet.
Amazing hotel! It is worth to pay for the Gold Level. It is is beyond anything I ever experienced. I am Westin Hotel fan, and the Fairmount Hotel was just miles away from the Westin.Their staff are so nice, friendly and always so willing to help.
Like any other hotel 4 Star, room service is way too expensive, and dishes are pricey. I understand you're in the business to be profitable, but you do not need to charge an arm and a leg for food. Offering good price = too more orders which = more profit
Location/ Customer service
It is a fairmont in name only. Rooms have not been upgraded to reflect the name of the hotel. It probably was under different ownership in the past. Definitely not a four star at this time
I upgraded to the gold floor which offers evening appetizers that I had instead of dinner and an honor bar and also breakfast. The amenities were so comfortable. I felt like I was being pampered during my stay.
The staff were very accommodating, friendly and helpful. The room was nice and well appointed.
I arrived at the Fairmont Winnipeg to find out a pipe had burst and I couldn't stay in my room. They provided me with accommodations in a different hotel for 2 nights, then upgraded me to a Fairmont Gold suite when they were ready for me to return. I received excellent service with several check-ins from staff to ensure my stay was satisfactory, as well as a few extras. My only complaint is that communication between the Fairmont and the replacement hotel was perhaps a little poor and nobody was exactly sure how long I would be staying and where I would be returning to. When that got sorted out, everything was pretty excellent.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating
The room was average. Nothing too fancy or modern.
the room service staff was great as well the bell men
They did not want to honour that my reservation included internet access. they corrected this but it had to be addressed 3 times before it was taken off my bill.
There were only rooms available on the smoking floor but I took it as I had meetings in this hotel. Room had burn stains on the carpet and tables. Stains on the walls and comforter. Smoke smell was unbearable.
did not like the fact you had to pay for internet who does that anymore...hjonsetly - that was chihcy!@ and at $14 per day - a little pricy too! Hotel has horrible brualist concrete architecture...icky looking building from the outside
Location....staff very friendly and accomadating. Shower and bed were incredible.
Parking was a little odd...but not an issue.
Great view, close to everything
The location was fabulous; the rooms were standard and the staff we not well knowledged. They sent us to the Ramada for our morning Starbucks when in actual fact was a Radisson and it took 20 minutes to get the morning newspaper.
The steam room needs some work and updating. There is mildew and some run down spots. For it to be at Fairmont standard, the hotel, in general, needs some work.
Well, we're from San Francisco, and we're at the Fairmont--anybody have any mental images of the Fairmont in San Francisco? We chose this hotel because of its reputation and high standards. Further, it had some pretty high reviews online, so when we got here and saw the 70's furnishings, the fake wood shelves behind the front desk, the fingerprint-laden, unpolished, scratched elevator doors, and the cheap furniture in the room, we wondered if we were at the right place. The first room we were offered on the 12th floor was stain-ridden! However, the front-desk staff was VERY courteous and friendly, and not only gave us another room, but helped me find certain locations tied to my being born in Winnipeg. On the first night, an unseen 'neighbor' left empty pizza boxes and beer bottles next to our door, AND the icemaker on our floor didn't work. At this point, our expectations were greatly diminished. Where EXACTLY were the high standards for this place?! Finally, the descriptions of the hotel being within walking distance to the Forks as well as other traveler's sites was misleading; rather than being outside the door, even perhaps a couple of blocks away, the Forks was a good 12-15 minute walk. By the time we realized this, it was too late to hail a cab as there were none to be found. This was far too ghetto-licious for the money. I would certainly try another hotel before coming back to this one, if I EVER find myself in Winnipeg again.
