Sweet, family-run hotel with a personal touch. Our room was huge and charming, with a beautiful balcony overlooking the harbor and city.
The restaurant, which staff called 'the best fish restaurant in Zadar' was overpriced and underwhelming. Save your money. The Hotel Niko is one of those fast-disappearing gems: a family-run hotel with all the quirks and charm of old Europe. We opted for one of the best rooms (I think it was 201) with a big balcony which was perfect for a sunset drink. Our room was big and comfortable with a modern, updated bathroom (the plastic, slightly moldy shower, was the only minor disappointment). The staff was friendly and helpful. The only downside was the restaurant, where a sad-looking murky aquarium should have warned us of things to come. Overall, though,a highly recommended hotel for the traveler weary of cookie-cutter corporate chains.
