The hotel's location alone constitutes a luxury, situated at the very center of Madrid. Hotel Ritz by Belmond is located between the beautiful Retiro Park, the elegant Teatro de la Zarzuela, and Madrid's most important museums - the Prado, the Thyssen Bornemisza and the Centro de Arte Moderno Reina Sofia. The hotel is within walking distance from the financi...

The beds were amazingly comfortable, the housekeepers were not only very amusing but extraordinarily nice. The hotel was insanely clean and had a very comfortable feel to it, as if a lot of fancy people had been through it over the years. The location is good, but not great, for accessing most of the touristy stuff in Madrid. But I found the Prado (directly beside the Ritz) to be horrifically overcrowded compared to some of the other museums like Sofia Reina just down the street. Note: Not really easy to access via metro, I'd recommend taking a taxi to/from.

Take the following review with a grain of salt. I am a young person who grew up poor and wanted, for once, the "Ritz" experience: While I am a big fan of trying new things, I have to say that the Ritz experience just wasn't for me. I don't mean to be crass, but if I had a fistful of fives - I can think of a few places I'd rather spend it than tipping the endless stream of people trying to help me with things. Additionally, there is a little doll that you place on your door if you do not wish to be disturbed. Note: Don't leave the doll up for very long, because if you do, they will call your room until you answer so that they can ask when the next time they can come in your room is. I nap maybe... 2-3 times per year at most, and I am severely irritated that they felt the need to call during my biannual nap to ask me when they can come in my room. Instead of changing my sheets 3X per day, how about leaving me the hell alone when I have my DO NOT DISTURB DOLL up? Perhaps I am not cut out for the lifestyle, but I don't want/need people treating me like a helpless child, yet simultaneously making me feel "lower" than they are. Every time I offered a "no thanks, I don't need a taxi, I'm walking" or walked into the hotel from the street, I received these weird looks of incredulity/disdain that I didn't particularly care for. When I brought my own luggage downstairs on checkout I absolutely horrified the front desk attendant. Why the need to treat people like this? I have no idea. My recommendation? Take the $500 per night you'd spend here for the standard room and split it in half. Take $250 / night to spend on some other hotel's suite. Take the other $250 and stick it back in your pocket.

If you want to stay in a really nice hotel in Madrid with pretty easy access to most attractions, this place is ideal. Breakfast and dinner on the terrace are great too!

After visiting some hotels, we decided to celebrate our wedding, which will be taken in June 2014, on the Me Madrid Hotel´s Roof, because the sights and the hotel prestige made us believe that hotel would provide us service as good as our wedding celebration would deserve. It happened in the other way around. When we finally decided to celebrate our wedding at the hotel, in March 2013, they pushed hardly to book the roof and give some money for it, even though the date they offered us didn´t fit us as we expected. After this, we had to go five different times to speak to 5 different customer support hotel employees to explain the same thing we were discussing at the beginning when we went for the first time, to finally ended up all the details before the summer 2013, just 1 year before the wedding begins. In November 2013, just 6 months before the event to start, we received a call from the hotel to ask us for coming over to speak to them. What was our surprise when we saw that the spa...

Though not large this was by far the modest exquisitely detailed room I have ever stayed in. Good location, w/bus and metro only a block away and in walking distance of many sights. Nightly piano music a plus but beware the bar allows smoking (incl cigars) so you may want to take refuge on the outdoor terrace or in the lounge. Like the other hotel in this chain's category that we stayed in, very hi-tech. In direct contrast to the opulence of the hotel, there is a Hard Rock restaurant in the same building (separate entry). Have to admit that after 10 days of local cuisine, it was a nice change of pace.

This hotel was gorgeous by European standards (and even decent by American standards). The room was small but well-appointed, bed was comfortable, bathroom was modern, large, and comfortable. They had free internet, as well. The location was ok -- in a good area for business, very close to 2 metro stations, but most of the tourist areas were a bit of a hike (although still very walkable). Overall, I would absolutely recommend it and would absolutely stay there again.

Location. Right off of Gran Via.

The mattresses and sheets smelled like birdseed or something weird. Even after the sheets were changed, it still smelled. This did not seem like a 4-star hotel. The only redeeming factor was the excellent location.

Prices are either the average per night price per room or first night of stay. You can select to display the prices with or without our estimate of taxes & fees (which may not appear on provider's booking page but will be charged at hotel checkout). Before you complete your reservation, verify the total cost on the provider's site. Prices and availability are not guaranteed.

Here's why:

We’re not the seller
At KAYAK we don’t set prices, so it’s not possible for us to guarantee what other companies are selling.

We aggregate tons of data for you
Our service lets you quickly and easily compare results from hundreds of travel sites at once. In this sense, KAYAK is a search engine and we don't guarantee prices we find.

Why aren’t prices accurate 100% of the time?
Prices on airline seats, hotel rooms and car rentals can change frequently. Several people may also be trying to buy the same travel option simultaneously. As a result, you may find on occasion that certain prices are no longer available.

More questions or if you have a bad price to report to us
Please send us an email and someone from our team will get back to you promptly.
