You may think of us as the travel data nerds, committed to making planning and booking travel better, but we know more than just where to fly next. We’re using our arsenal of search data to predict which teams will make it out of Sunday’s football games and onto Arizona for the Big Game. And while we don’t usually like to brag, our data did lead to correct predictions for two years in a row. So here we go – giving you the insights to ensure you’re walking away from Sunday’s games with more than just a belly full of hot wings and beer.

We’ve been tracking year-over-year increases in search activity for flights from competing cities to Arizona for the Big Game to figure out which team’s fans are most confident about their boys making it to the big dance. So which teams are expected to advance?

Seattle seems to be the most confident in their team, feverishly searching for flights to Arizona with significantly more vigor than any of the remaining competitors. From Week 12 of the season to date, search activity from Seattle to the Big Game has increased a staggering 552% compared to a 100% increase for searches from Green Bay fans.

KAYAK data is also predicting a New England win, boasting a 342% average search activity increase compared to a 125% average search activity increase from Indianapolis.

So KAYAK data points to Seattle v. New England but if history has taught us anything, it’s that this Sunday could be anyone’s game. Who do you think will walk away with victory? Check back next week for an update on which team KAYAK’s data shows will be dancing under confetti and hoisting the trophy on February 1st.

*Considered YoY increase in share of searches conducted Dec 1, 2014 – Jan 12, 2015 from hometown regions to Phoenix, Arizona for travel beginning between Jan 29, 2015 and Feb 1, 2015 and ending between Feb 1, 2015 and Feb 3, 2015.
