There was no customer service rep when we arrived. No email notification only a counter sign of no representative and no available/limited inventory. Luckily Alamo was open and had inventory.

The worst car renting experience I have ever had. 2 hours to get a car, then was given a car that was unsafe and had to be returned, unhelpful agent, and lots of finger pointing (e.g., you should have booked with me directly, not through this 3rd party). I will be speaking with Avis, and I will be working with my credit card to reverse the charges. And, I will likely never book with kayak before because the fact that it was through kayak, which did it through Expedia, and only then with Avis made the process that much more complicated and difficult.

We were a tad bit early, but were still accommodated. The car was dirty ( not vacuumed and not completely full, the time to change oil indicator was on came on day 2 of a 9 day one way reservation, I immediately took the vehicle to a Avis location that was unable to rectify the problem. I contacted Avis and was told if I took the car for an oil change, and turned in my receipt that I would be reimbursed for my out of pocket expenses, I misplaced the receipt so now I'm out even more for something that should have been taken care of prior to renting this vehicle to anyone.

Friendly staff and quick once we got to the counter. This is likely because I listen to the questions the previous customers are asked and I am prepared to respond so I can get to my car quicker. Upon return, we gave the counter staff an unopened half case of water because we obviously couldn’t take it on our flight and the staff couldn’t have more appreciative and thankful. Very polite.

Check in online was good but the next step to select vehicle was very disappointing- did not go through. Then no response. Thrifty counter at airport was closed- long line at Dollar counter: then had to go on lower level at another counter to get car. Nearly 2 hours before we get car: what’s the use of checking online?

Terrible customer service and gave me a crappy car, low tire pressure at start and ask customer to fill it on the way, engine oil life of 10%. Cause delay on my trip schedule. Charge full at the end of the trip regardless of faulty car and bad customer.

Full size SUV is not a ford edge similar to high lander. Car was not clean when picked up and we had to identify multiple scratches and dents not included on the form so with no attendant outside we had to walk back inside to the rental counter to add them to the form before leaving (extra 20 min process)

I experienced a mechanical issue during my trip. The car I rented might have had some issue before I picked it up. I was asked to pickup another car in another city at no additional cost when I contacted customer care. I did pick up the new vehicle but they charged me 3x more than what the original rental agreement said. This is despite their assurance I won’t be charged extra for the vehicle swap. Dollar’s customer service is the worst I have seen in a decade. They can’t internally route calls to other departments and has insane wait times. The only redeeming thing is that the store manager at DFW airport helped me adjust the rental price to we originally agreed upon. Probably won’t rent again. This is disappointing because Hertz owns Dollar and I always thought Hertz had good customer service.

After a long trip for a stop over in Guam for few days and connecting to another one, the agent was awesome! Her service was outstanding and left a great impression. To top ot off, she was there when I returned the rental, providing the same level of exceptional service Her friendliness and professionalism made my rental experience truly enjoyable.

Cons:

The rate was fair but additional charges like gas was not expected as I was not mentioned about tank fill up. Over charged me for fuel. And drop off location needs to be more.

I didn’t like how they processed everything, too fast and didn’t have a choice of car. I would of liked a compact with trunk not hatch. And again fast with the check out, I wanted to pay cash and they didn’t even give us a chance to ask if we could. They were only concerned how many miles I put on, and that I parked in the return section. Mind you it’s snowing outside and their parking lot is a mess. Safety first? Lol mileage should be my last concern, And besides I’m paying.

Cons:

Car was obviously smoked in even though they claim a non smoking fleet.. It was like driving an ashtray with leather seats. Froze $200 of credit for 3 days past my drop off as opposed to date of pick up. Was very odd.

Pros:

I was 12 minutes late due to uber driver making a wrong turn. Rental Agent refused to rent me the car.

Cons:

They could have cared and provided minimal customer service. Also not accept reservations for thier exact closing time.

Not charging the gasoline because they let me the car almost empty, more payment options, customer service needs to improve, car was smelling of cigarettes and I was traveling with a baby, car said needed maintenance and to change oil, price is not that good once they charge you all things they do not offer

The car smelled very strongly of smoke, and the fabric seats in the car were visibly dirty. Both of these were an issue during my 20+ hour round trip road trip. I’m extremely disappointed.
