Car rentals in Gatlinburg offer a wide range of vehicles to meet the interests of different clients. Depending on the number of passengers and luggage, you can rent a Sedan, Minivan, SUV, Intermediate, Pick-up truck, or an Open Air All Terrain vehicle. If you are traveling alone, an Economy or Compact rental will suit you just fine. If you are traveling with three to five people, choose an Intermediate Rental or a Minivan, so you can travel comfortably. Other than the noted factors, consider the roads that lead to the destinations you want to visit. If the destinations are served by dirt and gravel roads, pick between an SUV and an Open Air All Terrain vehicle.
When driving in the residential streets of Gatlinburg, you should maintain a speed of up to 25 mph. The same applies to other areas that have a high pedestrian frequency, such as commercial districts and school zones. Outside the city, you must go over 55 mph on undivided two-lane roads and 70 mph on major highways that connect to other towns. It is wise to look out for speed limit signs, especially on roads with nearby construction sites or during bad weather. Given that traffic officers enforce these limits with hefty fines, it is in your best interest to adhere to them at all times.
If you are worried about where you would park the vehicle you have rented from one of the top car rentals in Gatlinburg, there are parking garages, private and public parking lots throughout the city you can take advantage of. Parking garages include the McMahan and the Ripley’s Aquarium Parking Garages. Public parking lots are guarded to enhance the security of your rental car from theft and malicious destruction. Their rates vary as per the location and duration, and examples include the Reagan Drive Lot and the Park Plaza Lot. Private parking lots are typically located close to popular attractions and offer parking for a fee, normally about $10 a day. Look out for signs indicating private parking lots.

The reservation did not work. Terms and conditions applied that more than doubled the price (drop off fee). The agent at the desk was rude and unhelpful. Ended up going to Alamo which offered a decent price on the spot.2.0 Poor

They had canceled our reservation and car not available. Our flight canceled and rescheduled to later in day- not under our control. Sales person not nice and seemed bothered that we were bothering her. Not helpful at all. We rented from budget - they were very helpful and actually less expensiveOne location in Gatlinburg

Cons:
I paid for a mid sized suv to go on vacation with my 3 friends. I was given a Nissan Kicks which is a sub compact vehicle. It was so small we barely fit our luggage in. Very disappointed. The lady at Hertz didn’t care and said she had nothing else. Will Never use Hertz again. Poor customer service. One location in Gatlinburg
