For a $32.76 rental they have charged me $233.00 on pickup and $100/day since dropping the car off at the airport.

Check in online was good but the next step to select vehicle was very disappointing- did not go through. Then no response. Thrifty counter at airport was closed- long line at Dollar counter: then had to go on lower level at another counter to get car. Nearly 2 hours before we get car: what’s the use of checking online?

Terrible customer service and gave me a crappy car, low tire pressure at start and ask customer to fill it on the way, engine oil life of 10%. Cause delay on my trip schedule. Charge full at the end of the trip regardless of faulty car and bad customer.

Full size SUV is not a ford edge similar to high lander. Car was not clean when picked up and we had to identify multiple scratches and dents not included on the form so with no attendant outside we had to walk back inside to the rental counter to add them to the form before leaving (extra 20 min process)

There was no customer service rep when we arrived. No email notification only a counter sign of no representative and no available/limited inventory. Luckily Alamo was open and had inventory.

The worst car renting experience I have ever had. 2 hours to get a car, then was given a car that was unsafe and had to be returned, unhelpful agent, and lots of finger pointing (e.g., you should have booked with me directly, not through this 3rd party). I will be speaking with Avis, and I will be working with my credit card to reverse the charges. And, I will likely never book with kayak before because the fact that it was through kayak, which did it through Expedia, and only then with Avis made the process that much more complicated and difficult.

We were a tad bit early, but were still accommodated. The car was dirty ( not vacuumed and not completely full, the time to change oil indicator was on came on day 2 of a 9 day one way reservation, I immediately took the vehicle to a Avis location that was unable to rectify the problem. I contacted Avis and was told if I took the car for an oil change, and turned in my receipt that I would be reimbursed for my out of pocket expenses, I misplaced the receipt so now I'm out even more for something that should have been taken care of prior to renting this vehicle to anyone.

Friendly staff and quick once we got to the counter. This is likely because I listen to the questions the previous customers are asked and I am prepared to respond so I can get to my car quicker. Upon return, we gave the counter staff an unopened half case of water because we obviously couldn’t take it on our flight and the staff couldn’t have more appreciative and thankful. Very polite.

The pickup process could be easier. No indication as to where to go to find the car. Asked a lady who pointed us in the general direction. Then had to manhandle our suitcases up stairs because of no elevator or ramp. People running the rental lot were less than welcoming. Car was adequate. Ran well and it was very clean inside.

Pros:

Drop off was easy. I just pulled it into a space and dropped the keys at the rental desk inside the airport.

Cons:

Lots of things could be improved. I reserved the car 3 weeks in advance, and had to wait an hour past the reserved pick-up time to get keys. The excuse was "we're busy." Five minutes after leaving the rental lot, various warning lights came on and remained on/off throughout our week rental. Car could have been cleaner too.

Pros:

They were nice on the phone and in the end I forgot my wallet and the called us just in time.

Cons:

We call to ask about car seats, they said they take care of it. We arrived an hour earlier, se we talked about the car seats again and waited for our allotted time because there were no other cars, no problem there, the problem is that even when we showed an hour later the car was ready they dumped the car seats on us not on the car, and they knew is was 3 car seats, so that's all the luggage, all 3 kids and all 3 car seats, and if we're paying to use the car seats we do expect to see the car seats in the car not at the window, we have rented cars everywhere domestically and abroad amd that's the first time we have to pay, install and carry car seats.

Horrible experience. I picked car up to a car with no brakes , filthy and no charger installed. I asked to replace car and was told I’m the one who picked an economy car. Rude! Then replaced car had faulty engine and brakes problems but I kept it since it as a hassle for them to replace. Car was also filthy. When I returned the car they told me I had to go vacuum the car from sand that had no foot mat. Rep stated on the paperwork it was 3 mats and was a lie. Only 2 back mats came with car. Only reason I didn’t score it poor is because I survived this death trap!

Rental agents very pushy with all the extras that some renters don’t need or desire. I purchased full coverage collision through Kayak for half of what dollar charges, and agents got rude and I was told that with my full coverage damage and collision coverage that I still needed theirs. Finally got them to decline their full coverage and got out of there. They still added pre paid gas charge, which I didn’t need cuz I alway fill the tank when I return rentals. Also this car was dented, scratched, missing hub cap, damage from prior rentals. I took pics., videos, and logged down all damage prior to leaving. In the states, this rental would have been on he auction block last year. Not happy at all with this experience. Will choose another place next time.

Cons:

No pavement at the pick up office - you have to drag your suitcases through rocks. No ac area for family, only one person is allowed in the office (makes sense during pandemic), check in takes awhile, other people have to stay outside in the heat. Confusing shuttle service at the airport, local phone number is not provided, no shade in pickup area

well, it took 2 hours to get my car; we ordered a luxury SUV and i was given a Nissan Kicks, which is no luxury SUV; i was overcharged initially; had to go back and fix everything. eventually they gave me another SUV (not the dodge durango we asked but a grand jeep); but was not pleasant.

We rented an SUV but when we arrived we were told that we’re none available and we’re forced to take a Nissan Altima for 5 adults. I showed the confirmation email to the Hertz team member and she just shrugged her shoulders and said there was nothing she could do. Was the worst experience I’ve ever had renting a car.

I was never informed that the car couldn’t be taken to St John, where I was staying. That’s part of the Virgin Islands and a short ferry ride away. So I was denied rental upon arrival and then forced to find a very last minute rental from Another agency. Terrible service!
