It was very spacious. My driver was very friendly and funny 🤣😁. There was a bathroom in the trunk. And I needed (of course)to pee so you know where I left a wet spot(the trunk). The drivers around us were very friendly 😸, probably cuz I put a "baby 🍼 on board" sticker on the car. And my dog 🐶 absolutely loved 😍 the drive. He was barking like crazy.

No one answers the phones at Budget. The same voice menu prompts all take you to lost and found. Upon finally getting someone to confirm that Budget staff will be at the airport despite a late arriving flight, security told us they left 15 mins before I walked in (i.e. after the flight had actually landed). Really frustrated with Budget and will not rent from them again.

Rental company tried to force me to take an electric vehicle saying it was their choice. I was told the car had a driving range of 200 miles and must be returned with 70% of battery life. Rental companies are stuck with electric cars that are not wanted by renters. This was a bait and switch situation. I was forced to take the large SUV at a higher price.

Reserved a car and went to go pick it up and upon arrival we found out they had closed before actual closing hours. Talked with another person that was there at the same time and they mentioned thrifty had given out all their cars. I shouldn't have been able to reserve a car ahead of time if they're just going to give out all available vehicles.

Never got the car, after arriving nobody was in the office and after calling multiple times they didn’t have any reservation made to my name despite having the reservation and itinerary numbers. They shielded behind the excuse of making a deposit to reserve and I was never ask that until that moment, plus no cell service to call customer support to resolve the issue with KAYAK. Someone made a mistake along those lines and I never do it again.

Moved us from Thrifty to Alamo. After waiting line for 30 minutes someone tells us if we made a reservation that day or the day before they are booked and we have no reservations. Continued to say for those of you who booked two days ago or prior, you have a 2 hour wait.

Payless car rental was closed when I arrived at 12pm on a Saturday. . Had to visit another car rental and paid four times the price. Very unpleasant experience.

Despite having a reservation to rent a car for a single day in Puebla, when we showed up we were told there was no car available. Then the man at the front desk said there was a car available but it would be more expensive due to local tax. We were okay with this, but he then said we needed to put down a deposit of $5000 usd, which seemed crazy for just one day. He then changed the deposit amount to $88 usd. The entire interaction felt like he was just making up numbers. It felt very sketchy so we decided to forget renting a car entirely and just traveled via bus…..

Kayak allowing third party insurance that is NOT accepted by the rental company is a total scam. GET RID OF IT. A trial bait and switch situation. Basically illegal.

They advertised one priced, just to double it at checkout. Then, no cars were available even though I made reservations.

Tried to upsell me on additional insurance even though I purchased insurance coverage through KAYAK. Then tried to scare me by saying there was a possibility that I would still have to pay a high deductible since it was not purchased through Hertz. I would have preferred a walk around to notate minor damage all around vehicle. The agent walked away and sat behind desk. When I asked that he come see damage he said there was no need since pictures were already taken. When I asked how much gas was needed when vehicle was returned. I was told "whatever shows on the fuel gauge" is what you bring it back with. The fuel gauge was 95% full. No where notated that I could see. I feel the service mediocre at best. The car itself worked fine. I was greatfull to find a car last minute for a long distance trip. You would not find any cars available through Herts website. Kayak came through and found one for me.

Didn’t like anything and actually walked out once they said we’d have to put. $500 security deposit on a rental that wasn’t even what we reserved and paid for already. Will be using their competition from now on

Pros:

The staff in the pickup and return area is very courteous and helpful. The car was exceptionally clean.

Cons:

Telephone service, needs work. Customer support is obviously farmed out overseas and if the problem isn't in their book they simply keep repeating what's in front of them. In 4 attempts over 3 hours no one at the rental desk in the airport (ELP) ever answered the phone.

Picking up from DFW was the best experience I had, honestly the only reason why they get 3 stars & not just 1. Took about 10 min tops & customer service was excellent!

Cons:

Dropping off in El Paso was easy & efficient but picking up another car 4 days later was a nightmare. Took over 40 min just at the desk (there were 2 people ahead of me). Once we were in the parking lot to pick up the car, there was only one person working outside, but he was too busy on a personal call to help us. When he finally came over to tell us which car we could take, he didn't get off the phone, & just said, you can take that one, & went back into his booth, still on his cell phone, while we waited for him to let us out at the exit, which he walked to a couple minutes later, still on his phone. We were the only ones there! The car didn't have any windshield wiper fluid & the remote didn't work. My card was charged 2 separate amounts that didn't add up to the total on my receipt, it was for almost $30 more, & after being reimbursed for some of the inconveniences, the second amount is still on hold almost 2 weeks later & when I call Alamo, I keep getting different answers as to why, including, we don't show anything on hold, we show the transaction complete & there's nothing they can do except wait a few weeks & see if that amount is still on hold. DONT EVER RENT A CAR from the EL PASO LOCATION!

I loved the service, really friendly. they let me choose the car on the fly. no hidden fees or obligatory extra insurance, they accept your credit card included insurance which has been a big issue before with other car rental companies.

The car was new and perfect

Cons:

I used the car exactly 24 hours but since the drop off city has an hour ahead in the time they charged me $38 additional to my bill. I paid because of my rush to take my flight but I don't think this is correct.

The vehicle was perfect for our trip.

Cons:

Let customers know they must have a major credit card to rent a vehicle. The first representative that I spoke to when I went to pick up the rental was very rude, did not help. He was very sarcastic which was very upsetting because at that moment I thought my air b&b had been paid for I did panic and your representative did nothing to help again was extremely rude. I finally was able to get my brother to go to the airport drove from the west side to help me rent the car your second representative was extremely nice, helpful and professional I wished I would have gotten both their names.

Pros:

Ease of rental and return and lowest cost price for a one-way rental in the southwest. Enterprise employee gave a tutorial on how to use the complicated radio and the instruction manuals were left for us in the glove compartment. They called within a few days of our return to have us review their rental.

Cons:

The 2017 Chevy Impala was a very nice car with two exceptions. 1. The visibility on the side windows and through the rear window is less then preferable. We had to be extra careful to look 2-3 times to be sure no car was there. 2. The radio connection to my iPhone was complicated and not intuitive. Could not switch easily between the radio and iPhone without having to reset the iPhone.

Pros:

Car was clean and reliable. I drove a compact a little over 500 miles.

Cons:

The fact that I got a credit card bill for over a hundred dollars more than what I had signed for at the time of the pickup. If I had not checked I could have been stiffed with the a rate almost equivalent to a plane ticket. Had to call and was told the computer system overcharged.
