Keep calm and bring a carry-on.
As mentioned earlier, travelers have encountered some challenges with lost luggage recently. Though checking a bag can be nice for hands-free flights or longer trips, now might be the time to consolidate your things into a carry-on. With this in mind, here are some things to consider when packing for your next trip:

  • Try to avoid checking bags.

We can help you check to make sure your carry-on is the right size – just go to the iOS app, scroll down to the “Popular tools” section and choose the “Measure your bag” tool.
  • Track your luggage.

Invest in a few smart tags to pop in your luggage for easy tracking. Otherwise, take printed tags and ask about tracking numbers – many airlines will update you by text or through their app.
  • Label your things.

If you must check a bag, make sure your luggage is labeled both inside and out so it can be easily identified if it does get lost.
  • Keep your receipts.

If your luggage does get lost, ask your airline about reimbursement – many offer to cover expenses of replacement items.
