Ahh August, the Sunday of summer… But even though the season may be winding down and responsibilities are beginning to replace beach trips, there’s still time to squeeze in one last getaway before the end of summer.

Even if saving money is top of mind, a last-minute vacay is more doable than you might think. We dove into our data to reveal the cheapest flights to Europe and within the US for travel through September 3.

With peak season coming to a close in many of these destinations, airfare is more affordable as summer ends, so why not take advantage of one last vacation?

Key findings:

Reykjavík is the clear European winner. With postcard-perfect coastal views, long hours of daylight and some of the most affordable airfare, Iceland is as appealing as ever. According to our data, Reykjavík is one of the cheapest European destinations to visit – with median airfare ranging as low as $416 out of Orlando International Airport.

The Northeast is a hub for low European airfare. A number of major airports in this region have the lowest median airfare to Europe, with fares from most cities falling below $500. A flight from Newark International Airport in New Jersey to Paris is the cheapest way to Europe from the US, with median airfare as low as $405. Europe-bound flights from T.F. Green Airport in Rhode Island and Boston Logan International Airport trail close behind with just a few dollars difference.

Head out West for a good deal. If budget is a top priority, a trip to Denver could be your ticket to end-of-summer savings. We saw a number of new airline routes launch this year, making this Western city more affordable as it becomes more accessible.

Find savings in the South. Trailing close behind Denver, Orlando is also hot for end-of-summer savings. Whether it’s a trip to the state’s iconic theme parks or one last beach getaway, Orlando is another affordable option from many US airports.
