As Americans gear up for warmer months, KAYAK search trends reveal a clear shift: travelers are chasing experiences that bring adventure, fresh air, and most importantly, great value. And it’s no wonder — in a recent KAYAK survey, 2 in 3 Americans said the cost of travel impacts how many trips they’ll take in the future, and an even greater share cites rising prices for transportation and accommodation as a key concern.* With budget top of mind, we’re shining a spotlight on where deals and savings can be uncovered for trips between April and June.

The good news? You don’t have to compromise on experience to save. KAYAK data shows you can snag great deals if you travel between April and June. And travelers aren’t skimping on the fun: Beach and Pool top the list of most-searched hotel amenities, and open-air SUVs are one of the fastest-growing rental car categories.

Adventure doesn’t have to cost a fortune. Keep scrolling to see where your budget can take you—and let KAYAK do the heavy lifting.

Savings tips from a KAYAK expert.

expert-jake-bouvrie

KAYAK’s VP, Data Science and travel trends expert, Jake Bouvrie, shares data-backed strategies to help travelers unlock hidden savings, avoid common booking pitfalls, and stretch their travel budgets further—proving that smart planning leads to big rewards.

#1 Use multi-city search for city hopping.

This is probably my favorite tool on KAYAK because it allows you to book several legs of a trip at once – and it’s super relevant since our latest research predicts “city-jumping” will be a major trend over the next 5 years. But what folks may not know is that booking this way also can save you money by combining multiple destinations into one ticket AND by only requiring you to check your luggage once thus saving baggage fees.

#2 It IS possible to book too early.

Airlines and hotels sometimes show high prices early on due to limited availability. Instead of booking immediately, set a Price Alert on KAYAK to get notified when prices drop and score a better deal.

#3 Book accommodation on your phone.

While many travelers prefer the comfort of a laptop for planning, it’s also worth checking the KAYAK app where some hotels offer “Mobile Rates”  that can unlock extra savings with just a few taps.

KAYAK offers more than search—our tools help travelers identify deals, time their bookings, and uncover destinations that match both budget and interest.
