Cute, VERY clean, cozy little room in a classic motor lodge across the street from Lake Huron and Thunder Bay. Staff was pleasant and accommodating, Decor was "well cared-for vintage" and very homey. Everything we needed was provided, including an extra heater for our Arizona-acclimated chill tolerance. We even asked to add an extra night in the morning instead of checking out, and were told we were welcome. Lovely location close to the water without being right in your face, lol. Its not a big room, and that is totally in keeping with the style when this place was built: you didn't need one. You'd go out on the beach or the lake and the town and the parks and your room was a clean, comfortable, safe place to sleep and keep your stuff. Mom and I stayed in a dozen places on this 3000+ mile road trip--including some pretty pricey ones--and this was the most comfortable bed of any of them. Highly recommend for that classic "family vacation" feel! No, there isn't a breakfast included, but most places we were at that did advertise one seemed to just offer generic cereal or a questionably clean waffle maker anyway, so we didn't mind paying a little less for this lodge that skips that and lets you decide on your own food, lol. Plenty of great local restaurants around, and a fridge and microwave in the room. This place was a gem!
