The smoking area/patio was just outside my room and it was too noisy and too smokey to sit out and enjoy the sunset.
The quality of the bedroom and bathroom and products used. No charge for breakfast in room. Flexibility about breakfast time in restaurant. Open fire in lounge. Good food
Difficult to know where the entrance was on arrival. I did not like the products stand at the entrance before you reach reception and i did not like the fact that you had to walk through the bar coming and going from your bedroom. Mostly i did not like the price for what was on offer.
It was one of the most relaxing breaks we have ever had The staff were on hand but not in your face and nothing was too much trouble for them.
The staff were absolutely excellent -- kind, courteous, discreet -- the front desk staff, the restaurant staff, the cleaning staff -- we encountered & were taken care of by all of them. We also had a half bottle of wine from the mini bar, and were impressed by the relatively reasonable price and absolutely lovely selection. In the latter respect, the place absolutely lives up to its name.
I know it's a gourmet restaurant and all, but I wasn't terribly impressed with the entrees. Our experience in the restaurant the first night was ok -- our table seemed like the 'cheap seats' and was a bit cold. The prices didn't seem to account for the passing of the Celtic Tiger. I much more enjoyed sitting in the room the second night with a selection of the starters ordered from room service. The food was more interesting, the venue more enjoyable, and the prices a bit better!
