The hotel has an amazing view. The room was fairly clean, and the showers were awesome.
There was a fee for self-parking, which is very annoying. It wasn't much, but it always rubs me the wrong way when the first thing a hotel does upon arrival is tack on a fee while checking you in. The parking is fine, though there are separate elevators for the parking structure and the hotel, which isn't made apparent. The location is ideal for a view, but is not the best if you don't have a vehicle. The shuttle is annoyingly timed, and it's way too far to walk to town, so you pretty much need a car. Also, the proximity to the gondola meant that while entering or leaving the hotel, you had a wait on traffic coming/going from the gondola. ** If you are going for the view, this is the place to stay. If you are hoping to enjoy down town, get a hotel closer. Having to drive and park in town for every meal became annoying quickly. It would have been great to be able to walk into town and not be stuck in traffic for 10-20 minutes each time we wanted to go somewhere.
I was stressed about Rimrock vs, the Fairmont...the Rimrock was fine. Much smaller than the huge Fairmont, easy to get to, but both are farther out of the small town of Banff. We had a car, so getting into Banff was super easy. From the Rimrock we walked up to the Gondola (didn't ride it--$40 per person is a bit pricey!), and we only stayed one night, so we did enjoy the Rimrock overall very much.
View was blocked - Parking not included
Room was clean. Staff is great.
The restaurant eden inside the resort is terrible. Almost ruined my evening we left after 2 course I think we paid for 4 never will I go back to that restaurant
I have stayed at the Rimrock before and will do so again. It is one of my favourite hotels, the rooms are spacious and clean, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable and I believe a fair value for the level of services provided.
Complaining about paying $15/day for self-parking a car seems a little ridiculous when compared to a $200/night room but at the same time the extra charge doesn't seem necessary.
The beds and the view.
The staff at the reception desk is highly unpolite.
What a good idea to warn clients if a room has an obstructed/poor view - rather than being disappointed with a view of the carpark we were pleasantly surprised that could see a bit of mountain as well! The room was very comfortable. Tasting menu in the Eden restaurant was good fun. The sommelier James was outstanding.
Beautiful hotel with great mountain views, very comfortable atmosphere, very helpful staff and very good value for the money spent.
carpets on the 7th floor needed to be replaced badly
Absolutely beautiful!!!!! Had a great visit !
yes, there was not enough night security. the night we stayed there , there was some sort of party going on. After two fire alarms going off, because of party animals and noises in the corridors all night, we decided at 3am, after no sleep to check out and head back to calgary.
the staff were very helpful
The price of the rooms than add on parking fee was felt a little tacky.
The location, dining and pools were a definite plus. Our room was lovely and clean. The view was beautiful.
We felt that in addition to the cost of the room and tipping the valet, the fee for parking should be included.
The hotel staffs are very attentive and helpful. Location is very close to the hotspring and Gondola ride. Not to mention there's a starbucks at the gondola station.
The rooms are a little aged.
Right in the town of Banff.
