The Red Capital Residence is Beijing's first boutique hotel. The residence is located in a carefully restored traditional Chinese courtyard in Dongsi, a historic preservation district of Beijing.
The Red Capital Residence consists of only five rooms, each appointed with original period antiques and a different historic theme. There are three double rooms: the Chairman's Suite (which brings one back to a time when Mao made key decisions from his bedroom), two Concubine's Private Courtyards (for anyone who has ever dreamed of being or having a concubine), and two Author's Suites (one inspired by Edgar Snow and the other by Han Suyin).
All rooms have modern private bath facilities, internet connection, electronic safes, and TV. In addition, the Residence has Beijing's most elite cigar divan where one can sit on the original furnishings used by China's early revolutionary leaders, and a wine bar in the Cultural Revolution bomb shelter entered through a hidden tunnel in the classic Chinese rock garden.
