This traditional Scottish hotel has a quiet location on the Cateran Trail walking route. It has free parking, free Wi-Fi, en suite rooms and a cosy bar with good food, local real ales and a log fire. The Glenisla Hotel and restaurant is near Blairgowrie in the beautiful Angus Glens. The Glenisla was an old coaching inn and mixes original character with modern comforts. Each en suite room is individually decorated and centrally heated. The rooms have tea/coffee, alarm clocks and hairdryers. A full Scottish breakfast is served each day in the dining room. The guests' lounge has Freeview TV, a DVD player and a collection of DVDs; the traditional bar has oak beams, real ales and whiskies. A darts board and a pool table are available for guests to enjoy.
Friendly cosy bar Nice dining room Good breakfast
A bit cold with heating going off early and not coming on till late making bed in particular rather cold.
The food was excellent with a great breakfast and the room was very comfortable for the price we paid
The hotel was very quiet with no atmosphere and the hoteliers could have been more welcoming.
we liked the friendly atmosphere, great staff.big open fires n the tranquility of where the glenisla hotel was.perfect.
Excellent food. Fabulous log fire. Very comfortable bed.
excellent dinner and comfortable large bed
breakfast was awful (think the bacon had been cooked the week before) and we were disappointed it wasn't a Scottish breakfast (no square sausage or potato scone). The heating in our room didn't work and the shower was an exerpience to say the least. No shower curtain and the only hook for it was at the same height as the taps. Nightmare.
The decor of the room
Room was cold; shower had no pressure; wi-fi did not work as advertised; staff were not entirely helpful
Quality of food was good
Setting of hotel was very nice
No hot water and room was cold due to heating on for short periods
Peace and quiet and excellent food
Hotel was comfortable, service was good and food was excellent.
