I liked the spaciousness of the rooms.
The hotel location was a little further away from campus than I would've liked but it wasn't terrible.
Staff was awesome
The staff was kind to let us check out at 1pm.
The breakfast was disappointing. We went down at 8:30, a half hour before the breakfast closed. There was not enough hot food and all the bagels/toast were rock hard stale. Hopefully, it was just a one time thing.
The breakfast was great
Walls were a little thin, could hear the guy in the next roon snoring
The stay was good. From the minute we walked in the door the atmosphere was comfortable.
friendly and competent staff
The decor and general ambiance is really great, lots of dark woods. It almost feels like a nice hunting lodge. And it's conveniently located off the freeway.
The free breakfast was alright. They have a waffle iron, which is nice, but you have to wait forever to use it. And the eggs were pretty bleh. Also, noise carried not just from side to side but also between floors. We could hear the people below us argue.
spacious suites, full kitchen, clean, good breakfast
Staff and cleanness
The room size was great. Enjoyed our stay.
Front desk service was wonderful. After a very long day of travel Adam was great about getting us into our room early. He was very helpful throughout the weekend. The hotel appears to be fairly new,and is very warm and inviting. The beds were comfortable, linens and towels were Christmas and new. Overall it would've been an excellent experience for the money, except for the housekeeping. Housekeeping did not change the shampoos from the last guest. The night tables were dirty and dusty. In our kitchenette there was a coffee maker and coffee but no sugar or creamer, only salt-and-pepper. And in the common dining area downstairs, a pizza box and a cracker box were left on the floor next to the trash throughout the whole weekend without being cleaned up. Overall, Correcting a lazy housekeeping staff should be a pretty easy fix.
We had planned to stay at this hotel for only two nights over the Christmas holiday, but family concerns forced a longer stay. I ran out of Hilton Points after night three but got a great rate. The staff, when made aware of why we were staying, let us keep our Diamond upgrade for the entire stay without much of an increase in price. They bent over backwards to help us, from the housekeeping staff to the front desk personnel. We could not have been treated better. The rooms are exceptionally quiet, clean, and comfortable. The pillows aren't the greatest, as they are a bit thick for my taste, but everything else is very good for an outstanding price. The one thing about which I have regularly complained (I've stayed here multiple times in the last 18-months or so) is the breakfast. It's free, so I can't complain much. But the breakfast staff is a bit apathetic and the food runs out or is often not as hot as I'd like. However, what's there is usually tasty, our kids love it (the place is very kid-friendly) and this is now our family ''go-to'' hotel destination for Indiana University sports and family trips. I can't thank the staff enough for its courtesy to us in a difficult time over the holidays. They made us feel at home and took a lot of the pressure off a stressful time.
My husband and I stayed at this hotel over the New Year holiday and were SO impressed! The hotel was clean, comfortable, and the staff was incredibly nice! Great hotel!!!!
Clean, comfortable, roomy suites are a good value for the money, especially for this college town. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Includes a complimentary hot breakfast that was better than most. Small but serviceable pool and fitness room. 10 minutes or so from the IU campus; many restaurants and shopping nearby. Would stay here again.
We have stayed at several Bloomington hotels over the years while visiting our kids at college, but this one by far has been the nicest for the money. Very nice staff, great breakfast, and a well-appointed, comfortable room. One caveat: call the hotel for directions, as the directions on the Travel agent site did not make sense, at least for travelers coming from the north.
My son attends Indiana University, Homewood Suites is where we prefer to stay while visiting him. Our last visit was our 3rd stay at this hotel. The rooms are great for a family, two flat screen TV's and a full kitchen keep everyone happy. The room rates tend to fluctuate widely. From around $* when nothing is going on in town to around $* during family weekend, all for a one-bedroom suite. The breakfast is good, the evening cocktail hour/snacks (Mon-Thurs only, not avail during our last visit) are a nice break after a busy day. The business center only has one computer and there usually is a long line, the hotel could add another computer and printer. Also, as the hotel sits next to a car dealership (with bright lights on all night) heavier shades in the rooms facing the dealership would be nice. Other than that this is a great place to stay.
Highly recommend this hotel. The suites are nice, clean and very personable. There is a small kitchen and nice living space and bedroom to the side. Morning breakfast is very nice too. Staff was helpful and very personable to our needs. I plan on making this my regular stay hotel. The location is a little off the beaten path but its worth it for the stay
This hotel was just built in 2006. Although it is a short drive to downtown, it is well worth it. Room has comfortable beds, full fridge, stove, and even a dishwasher in the suite. Also included in the price is a breakfast buffet and light supper four nights a week. The pool and hot tub are clean, well kept and a relaxing way to unwind after a busy day. No concierge or valet parking, but lots of parking available on site. We loved our two day stay and would certainly return if in Bloomington again.
