If you're looking for a beautiful, historic, rustic mountain inn, then this place is amazing! We chose this hotel vs. one in the city due to its location in the mountains and we're so glad we did. The owners and their staff were wonderful and very helpful with suggestions of where to go and what to see. Breakfast was amazing!! This was a wonderful place to relax on our vacation. We hope to come back again! ... more
This it the most relaxing hotel in which my wife and I have ever stayed. Obviously, the room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. It was also exceptionally quiet (note: we had a mountain side room, the other side might get a little noise from the road outside, but I can't say for certain). There's a lot of charm and character in the building and furnishings which makes you feel farther away from the city than you are. Everything about the inn seems to be done with a lot of thought and consideration for the guests. There are also lots of cozy places to sit inside and outside of the hotel to relax and soak up the mountain atmosphere. Downtown Boulder is about a 5 minute drive and has lots of great restaurants (I recommend Walnut Brewery) as well as shopping. The inn is also close to the many many many trails that snake up and down the mountains. In summary, stay here. And wake up in time for the breakfast; it is delicious. ... more

The bed and linens were good. There was a nice outdoor gazebo and grill. It is in a quiet neighborhood.
The hallway and room carpets were stained and dirty. The hot tub was so filthy we did not dare use it. The acoustic ceiling tile in our room was water stained and had holes in it. The windows in our room were cracked. The AC is ancient and noisy. This is not a 'charming' country inn. It is an awkward conversion of a 1960's office building. For example, the kitchen sink and bathroom sink are exactly 3 inches apart on the kitchen counter. Everything in the place is of poor quality and low maintenance. There is zero security. The entrance door is left open 24 hours a day and the room keys are left in a basket on the desk. The Innkeepers are rarely around and they do not return calls to their phone number left at the desk for questions or issues. The community kitchen was reserved for a group, so not available to the average guest. FYI -... ... more
