If you must have a car rental reservation, make sure there’s free cancellation in case of extremely long pick-up line. Other rental companies will have similar cars available without the wait and will price match. Also Costco gas is literally next to the drop-off area so keep that in mind if you’re a member.

When you get in the car, have your phone flashlight or something available and on. Quickly open the door, and check for bugs. They scatter quick. But they only come out in the dark. Not sure I got the best deal. I rented through Kayak and was quoted a price. My CC got compromised shortly after ordering my car through Kayak. When I went to pickup my car at Sixt the agent wanted my CC used to rent the car. I asked why it was already paid. I told him what happened the the CC. He said he would have to cancel the prior reservation, and start over. When all said and done I feel the car cost was more than the orignal reservation. Did not want to hassle with it as long as I got refunded my orignal purchase. Six days later the refund posted. The guy at the counter was nice but the whole process did not make since given the car had already been paid and appoved. Any additional expenses should have been applied to the new CC. When checking out the rental no one walked through the car inspection. No way to document any damage observed prior to driving off. Also no option to pay for fuel in advance or at least it was never explained. Most agencies tell you the cost of fuel at the rental car and give you the option to pay in advance. Checking the car in the lady was friendly and inspected the car thoroughly same thing should be done initialy ensuring the leasee understands the features of the car. I had one experience where I failed to shut the drivers door completely and when I tried to to put the car in reverse it locked up and would go saying parking assist engaged. Spent 20 minutes playing with the car until i realized that the car would not engage because the door had not completely closed. I would rent from them again.
They told me I needed a credit card and would not allow me to use debit like your website said. Poor communication and I want a refund. I’m quiet furious on the quality of care and the response from kayak

The Pick-Up was an extremely poor experience. From the moment we got to the terminal and the woman outside demanded that only renters are allowed inside. Anyone else had to wait outside with the baggage. I waited in line for one hour, because there was only one agent working the Budget window. Eventually, a couple of other agents came out to help, but that was over 40 minutes into still waiting in line. The thing that really set me off was one agent, an older, white gentleman, after he came back from his break, made a joke “now helping #477“ Everyone in line looked at each other with bewilderment and I finally said something out loud, “we’ve been waiting in line for 45 minutes and you’re making jokes?“ It was completely inappropriate. You would think that on a Saturday afternoon in Maui, Budget would have staffed more appropriately for the level of business they were experiencing. I’m going to guess it’s this busy every Saturday at that time.

We were "upgraded" to a Ford Explorer-too big of a car for us. We asked for something smaller and agent said she'd change the vehicle. When we arrived at the car...it was a Ford Explorer. We were tired from a long trip and didn't want to drag our bags back and wait in line for another hour to fix it. We took the car and then tried to call a few days later to arrange an exchange. Could never get through to a live person and got hung up on by the automated number 2x. Beyond this, agent kept forcing insurance coverages on us. Our name was on the pick up list but "it wasn't highlighted" therefore the driver wasn't "allowed" to drive us to the office for our car. Being driven in a personal vehicle to pickup my rental was extremely confusing while trying to find your location. Once there, Alamo staff from registration through pickup and return were so pleasant and helpful. Will definitely use Alamo again. Mahalo

Did NOT know that Enterprise rental office was OFF AIRPORT AND CLOSED when we landed. Website needs to make this VERY CLEAR! Taxi charged $150 bucks to hotel then had to Uber back to Enterprise the next for another fee. Any savings was totally wiped out but the transport fee’s.
First car back door wouldn’t open at rental and was pretty shabby. Moved us to another car Second car had TPMS warning light come on several days later. Avis location in Kaanapali said it was just indicating service was due. Brought it there to avoid a potential roadside assistance claim. Dangerous answer. I have pic of warning light. I added air myself and light went out. Monitored it until returned car

I was double-billed for this car: $454.29 from QEEQ.com who placed the rental order and $619.64 from Budget. When I disputed this double charge, Budget said I was late for picking up my car, so the original order had been cancelled and new order placed. I stood in line for the rental car for over one hour -- that's why I didn't pick up the car on time. I was there, the rental desk was understaffed and the line of renters was very long.

Honestly, the customer service was great. They responded to and addressed our concerns in a timely manner. The line to pick up was eternal and more people should have been working. Three at least. However, the agent's customer service was fantastic. Great experience overall.
We picked up the vehicle within 15 -20 minutes after arriving at the sales desk. The counter person was polite and straight forward. We did not purchase additional upgrade, pre-paid gas or insurance. The only draw-back was the full size vehicle we wanted only available in one model and the three available were all black color with black interior. We were in Maui and wishing to have a lighter color car to drive in because of the heat. This was the only issue. So we were very satisfied.

My reservation pricing details were vastly different than my confirmation ($1100+ vs $400+). Was told the manager would fix it in the system before I got to the representative who clears you to leave in the parking lot. That didn’t happen and I had to go back inside for 20 more mins to get it cleared up. They said it was all good however, now I’m being charged an additional $80 over the initial price. Rental cars shouldn’t be this complicated. Now I have to spend more time calling to get this fixed.

The vehicle we rented was due for an oil change so every time you started the van the alert for the oil change would ping. Windows on the vehicle were so smeared you could barely see out with sun glare.

Car was not well maintained. Tires were well worn. Some instruments didn’t work or worked poorly.
This is just a very shady company. They are very untrustworthy. They never give you the vehicle you're promised and it's usually not in the same category. The check-in process is so long. I've used them twice and I will never use them again.

Vehicle was in need of a serious cleaning inside & out. Windows, doors, dash & steering wheel. Hard water spots on mirrors & windows. Wheels & rim were filthy and required air to be added upon pickup. Drop off was easy. They provided a shuttle to airport. Price was below average. Overall just OK.
The Shuttle Driver was awesome , very helpful & knowledgeable. Staff was busy helping people who did not complete the online forms, but moved quickly through customers. Return was very easy and the shuttle Lady was right there to get us going. No hassle what so ever. Email instructions were clear and precise, pick up area was well marked and safe. Office was air conditioned and cool With plenty of seats. My midsized car was a Chevy impala , it was clean, ran well and was easy on gas.

Supplier choice
The shuttle driver that picked me up was Amazing(Ella?)!!! The one that dropped me off was horribly rude! While trying to return the car(yes I read the extensive directions) I tried pulling into the lot and was screamed at to back up and when I didn’t immediately because there was a car behind, she started waving her arms and shaking her head. I finally turned into the lot and then she said I didn’t listen to her and parked wrong. And this is a very tight lot and I’m driving a big pick-up truck and there was no other place to park. The young lady who took the keys and checked me out was polite. Clearly this is not a rental car agency. The place is a weird location and looks more like a repair shop. I was given a very large work pick-up truck regardless that I said it was for only 1 person. And I get its dealer’s choice but had I known it could be this big truck, I would have booked elsewhere. When I asked for anything smaller I was told nothing was available. The truck was not clean and smelled of smoke, regardless that it says, no smoking. I would never use this place again as it set a very bad tone for the beginning and ending of my trip.
