Great location, nice view
When the air conditioning was running we froze. When it stopped we were burning up!
We arrived really early and the staff was very accommodating. Our rooms weren't ready but they happily stored our luggage while we went to lunch.
Super clean room and very nice breakfast selection
One of the three elevators was down and the wait for an elevator in the mornings was unbelievable. I waited for 15 min to get onto one that had room for even 1 person.
We stayed on the 23rd floor, and we were there for 2 nights. Unfortunately, the elevators were SUPER slow. We waited for over 15 minutes both mornings before deciding to take the stairs. We heard others talking about it at breakfast too. Middle of the day, it wasn't as bad. My legs still hurt from doing so many stairs this weekend. Otherwise, the location to Michigan Avenue was GREAT. Close to our favorite restaurant, Grand Lux.
Hotel location, overall room comfort and view, staff attentiveness, value and breakfast
Room location(we are HHonor Members and were put in room on elevator wall), bathroom needs work.Cost of parking.
Lovely LARGE room, great view and location, nice area in which to eat breakfast - modern and comfortable with plenty of seating. Full size hairdryer is especially appreciated along with ample clean towels.
Some elevator or machinery noise - did not bother me, almost like "white noise," but light sleepers might object.
The internal noise of the hotel made it virtually impossible to sleep past 7 am in the morning. The noise could be heard through out the floor, possibly a plumbing issue or the echoing of the elevators...we made it work, but not an ideal situation for vacationing.
The location is great for visitors interested in shopping and dining the magnificient mile.
Staff entered our room while we were there either without knocking or knocking as they already entered. When we got there the room was not ready. Instead of checking us in and telling us the room would be ready at three, they took our luggage and said come back at three. When we got back, there wa a line around the corner and we waited for almost an hour to get checked in to a room that was prepaid. Then the bellman who was absolutely frazzled could not find our luggage with the ticket number. When we got to the room there were no pillow cases on the pillows but a stack of them on the desk. I finished the linen myself. An hour later an attendant walked in without knocking saying she was here to get the pillowcases on. Then twenty minutes later a man with a clipboard apparently checking to see if rooms were ready entered our room and knocked after opening the door and coming in. The next morning my daughter and I were out and a man pounded on the door. My husband, just out of the shower, was greeted by a man that insisted he be let in to change out a TV to a larger size. A whopping 2 inches bigger by the way. After ten minutes of arguing the man went away. We were a half hour from leaving, did not go to Chicago to watch TV in the hotel room and my husband was dripping wet in a towel! We finally were leaving this comedy sketch just to find out that the valet ticket we paid for at registration was not validated and got to stand in line again to get it stamped. Then after standing and waiting for the car for fifteen minutes, it turns out that the valet had already brought it down and parked it in the middle of the sidewalk unlocked. I would not return here another night if it was on the house and they paid me.
