I liked almost everything about the hotel. The room was great, the day staff was great, the location is better than several in the area we stayed at in the past. Room amenities were also very good.
The female employee who checked us out in the morning acted liked she was bothered by having to leave the rear office to deal with us. She was sullen and sighed and didn't even look up as I talked to her. She is NOT a good employee to have at this wonderful hotel.
Personal service. They actually get to know your name. You sort of feel a bit like family. They care about your stay. Were willing to go the extra bit to make our time there great. Thanks for a fabulous trip!
From check in everyone was very nice. We were going for a short trip to another city in the US and were going to stay again at Talbott before heading home. We didn't want to carry one bag & a set of golf clubs so asked if we could leave it behind. Talbott was very understanding and stored it till return. All hotels do it but the attitude of the staff at Talbott made the difference. ..
The hotel staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was special. I will definately be returning
Pretty much everything....very boutique...great staff....room maintenance five stars...great location
This hotel is from a different time and place in America. Everyone was so friendly the room was big and incredibly quiet. The doors are sick the walls are thick the beds are unbelievably comfortable. It's not exactly cheap with $58 per night for valet car parking. I stayed there on business and it was a joy to get a good nights sleep and have the best coffee I've ever had from room service.
The Talbott is an inviting, beautiful small hotel with fine amenities. Staff are friendly and attentive. It's a favorite for us anytime we visit downtown Chicago.
Location can't be beat. Great lobby and hotel bar. Staff was on point. Great mini-bar without the price gouging.
Dark, dated hallways. Very slow elevator. Our bed was not very comfortable. Rooms smelled a bit like smoke. Iron damaged some of our clothing.
We have been to Chicago numerous times in the past 20 yrs. but had never stayed at the Talbott before. Having a large convention going on the weekend we were there made it impossible to find a suite in one of the four top-named hotels we had previously stayed in. In my researching, I found the Talbott, which fit exactly what we wanted. We were able to book a suite, the hotel was only a block and a half from Michigan Ave. & reasonably priced considering the costs of hotels during that weekend. Because it isn't a huge hotel like many others, we weren't having to deal with large groups of other guests & the service was immediate. The staff was always extremely friendly & helpful. The rooms in the suite were kept spotless & most comfortable. This will be the only hotel we'll stay in from now on when we visit Chicago.
No complaints at all. We stayed seven nights and really enjoyed The Talbott Hotel. The entire staff was "First Class" and we will recommend this hotel to anyone who is planning on visiting Chicago.
