Price and the staff.
Bathroom was a bit dirty. Stalls were oddly small in female bathroom. For budget travelers, this is hands-down the best stay in the very-expensive downtown Chicago area. My sister and I stayed in a private room, which was more than we needed for the evening. The shared bathroom was a bit dirty, with oddly small bathroom stalls. But it was nothing that we couldn't ignore. The staff was extremely courteous and friendly. If you've ever stayed in a hostel overseas, this will be exactly as expected. A definite must for those who do not want to pay---- for a night downtown.
The staff was extremely friendly and even bought us a few rounds at the bar downstairs. It was in an very good location with great food located on every corner surrounding the building.
Our room was almost like a jail cell with 2 bunk beds and no ac. And there was no elevator so getting up to our room on the 3rd floor was a bit of a hike after spending all day at a music festival. Its a great deal if you are not looking for something crazy expensive and can handle a shared bathroom with everyone else on the floor

It was hust standard.. A big and confortable bed.. A clean room. I think the position is good but.
if you leave the hotel in the mornig and you come back in the night..It doesn't make sense to spend too much to have the hotel near to down town. I think next time I'll book an hotel some mile away from down town to spend less then---- for 2 nights..
Service and staff and proximity to grocery stores.
Noise from Interstate.

- There was a business board room table in my room - People were drinking/rowdy outside of the hotel entrance at a table & I didn't feel safe - I didn't sleep throughout night due to shakes / noise from traffic outsideI got in late & was already in bed / trying to sleep prior to hearing / feeling the shake of the traffic outside, otherwise, I would have asked to be moved. When I checked in the woman at the desk specifically asked if my stay was for business or pleasure - I said pleasure. If that was my answer - why would she put me in a room w a board room table in it? I couldn't relax - was thinking of work. I had to wake early to make a train & found the location of the hotel to be in a sketchy area. I had to walk to the train station - no cabs came by - no one was around - and if they were around...well I didn't want to be by them. The people were either drunk or homeless. - Also to note, the staff were gossiping with each other while I was check...
The location is awfully shady. Also if you get a room on the west side (facing downtown) then your room will be right by an expressway ramp which could be noisy at times during the night.

Overall, this is a great deal but you need to know what you're getting into. The price is generally below budget hotels in the area and you get a one bedroom apartment. You get a great apartment in downtown Chicago, with a grocery store and a fitness club on the same block. On the downside, there isn't ANY service, none. It isn't even easy to get the keys if you don't already know where to go. This is a DIY experience which is great if you're a DIY kind of person.

No poolVery exp to park overnight for not being in mag mile
Proximity to the United Center and good food.
Parking is expensive, go across the street. The shuttle was great except after the show there is only one 9 person shuttle. We walked back.Rush Medical has a parking structure across the street @ $13.50 per 24 hours. Use it! It's clean and covered.
