Car RentalOne of the best ways to handle transportation matters is by renting a car for the amount of time a passenger will be in El Paso. By driving themselves, passengers have the opportunity to travel at their own pace and take time to stop and see sights that may not be on the main bus routes. The Rental Car desks are located in the baggage claim area on the lower level of the terminal. Advantage, Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National, and Thrifty are all located within the airport making it even easier to reserve and pick up a car right after a flight arrives. Public/Ground TransferSun Metro provides regular service from the airport to downtown El Paso. Adults pay $1 per person or $2 for a day pass that offers unlimited rides in a 24 hour period. Children six and older get a 50% discount off those rates and seniors save even more paying only 10ยข per ride. The airport route leaves the bus area right outside the baggage claim area, then stops at Bassett Center Shopping, and then to Downtown Plaza where passengers can catch other bus lines or walk to their hotel. Airport ShuttlesThe airport has a free shuttle that travels between the main terminal and the long-term parking area. All other shuttle offerings must be booked in advance and are operated by private companies in the area. Those needing transportation for large groups should check out the Commercial Shuttles portion of the airport website for contact numbers. Limousine ServicesL & M Limousine and Las Cruces Limousine Service both offer limousine transportation throughout the region, but these are just a few of the area companies. Due to the roomy nature of limousines, the rides are always comfortable with plenty of leg room and baggage capacity. One thing that passengers do need to consider is that most companies in and around El Paso require a minimum three-hour reservation. Those opting for limousine service will pay for at least three hours, so they may want to plan accordingly. Taxi ServicesEl Paso International Airport has contracts with Diamond Cab Company and Sun City Cab Company. These two taxi companies are the only two that are allowed on airport grounds and their dispatch booth is located right outside baggage claim. Thanks to the contract, there are set fares that are charged. Cab rides into downtown El Paso are charged a maximum of $10 per carload. Those going to or from the airport and Ciudad Juarez, Mexico are charged a flat rate of $35. Rides from El Paso International Airport to Juarez Bus Station or Juarez Airport are charged $40 or $50 respectively. Taxi rides are generally the most convenient because there are no other passengers to let off along the way. Get more information on El Paso International Airport
